Problem is you don't want a defender to win your B&F as it means they are having to do too much work as the midfield is getting killed and the forward line isn't functioning
Clubs best and fairest usually reward numerous players for doing their role well.
Hence backmen can win it far more easily than a back winning the Brownlow.

Incidentally, the Moore and us losing stat, you loved trotting out, took a little hit tonight.

All Australian CHB a possibility this year
Absolutely.

He looks like he belongs there.

Runs at the ball, minds a player, can dash away.

He just looks the goods.

Someone said he wished we pumped up Travis Cloke who had AA, best and fairest and premiership medal at 24 compared to Darcy who had nothing. If it all aligns that could change soon.

Darcy looks to be enjoying his footy now. And if he is still learning his role and feeling his way down back, while continuing to build mental confidence in his body, then he can go to another level (at least). If and when that happens, look out!

I think he'll be a leading contender to take Rance's spot in the AA team this season.

It must have hurt Eddie Smith to acknowledge he played well tonight. Hopefully with a few more wins, Eddie can just be satisfied his team is winning and Moore is on track for a Top 5 finish in our B&F, just as Rance has done in seasons when Richmond have done OK too. Rance was AA captain in their premiership year and 2nd in their B&F. Moore finishing high in our B&F as a defender need not reflect poor team performance.

Has to continue this form all year, it's making a huge impact for us down back. He's been massive. Onya Moore AA CHB is waiting for you if you keep this up.

Moore was good tonight, wasn't required to get as involved as Roughead really stood up and got a lot more of the ball

Also helped that Richmond needed Riewoldt to ruck so took him out of the forward line for large chunks leaving Lynch on his own
How are those stats looking mate?

He was very very good again last night. Looks impassable at times and spoils as well as anyone I've seen. Sweet skills too and one kick last night that he raked across the ground from one wing to the other side forward flank was Buckleyesque.

I must admit I was frustrated last year with his work and injuries. Didn't mind him being traded.

But boy have I been wrong. He is turning out to be super witb his attitude and anticipation. He will only get better if he can stay injury free. He deserves a fair run. Fingers crossed.

Big test next week.

Makes you wonder if we should have rolled the dice with him in the grand final really.

Can’t change that now but hopefully we can look forward to another decade of him holding up one of our key defensive positions, he’s got everything needed, size, speed, athleticism, good hands, knows when to punch and when to mark, and he uses the footy around the ground much better than I thought he would, lacks a little penetration on long passes if you were being real critical but that’s hardly the end of the world.

I think a full healthy pre season has worked wonders.

Might have been too shaky body wise last finals series.
Well never know.
I’d not have been upset if they rolled the dice with Moore over Goldsack (the logical replacement).

He looks natural in the back line so far. Twice the player than as a forward, sorry dave,

Helps that has No Contract Pressure like last season
