Collingwood key defender Darcy Moore had scans yesterday which have returned this morning showing no structural damage to his left knee.

Scans revealed bone bruising and a capsule strain to the knee, but the ligaments remain intact.

The 26-year-old hyperextended his knee in a marking contest in the final minutes of the Pies’ Round 16 match against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday night.”

So do we just ask the opposition forwards not to lead, or better yet, just completely stand still?
Haven't you seen new Cox? He's been taking some good grabs. Dropped a few on the weekend but the conditions weren't 211cm-friendly.

What is your opinion of one of our ruckman filling Darcy's position? Could Cameron or Cox cover so a big body is present.
Ive seen a lot of similar suggestions. You can get away with being as slow as a glacier when you play in the forward line. But in defence, you have to be quick enough to defend the lead, and there is no way on God's green earth that Coxy or Cameron could defend a lead. Any half decent opposition KPP with a bit of forward craft would have a field day. Coxy is too slow off the mark, and Cameron makes Coxy look like Jesse Owens.

We will have to give the likes of Kelly a go, and let the ruckman drop back to CHB to help defend the high ball

Hugely relieved. Not just for our 2022 finals prospects but also that he won't miss a large part of 2023.

Looking forward to hearing the official word from the club on how long he'll miss. With 7 matches left, I'd love for him to be back by Rd 21 so that he can get 3 games in before finals. But I'm hoping we'll be in a position where we don't need to beat any of Melbourne, Sydney or Carlton to make the 8. Then we can welcome him back whenever he's ready.

What about Mihocek down back? Or would that hurt the forward line to much..
Can't think of any options otherwise other than Kelly who by all reports is not quite up to it
The Madge.

How many weeks would Moore be out for?

Could still potentially miss the rest of the season with bone bruising unfortunately.

But at least he’ll be fine for Round 1 next season.

Or we possibly get him back for finals.

Absolutely brilliant news.

He is vital. Need him for a real finals assault…

McCrae has, obviously, a great rapport with the football gods.

It’s in his DNA to be in the good graces of the football gods.

Bloody incredible news!

See you at the end of the month, Darcy?

Darcy is so important to us structurally. I hope that his time on the sidelines is an absolute minimum. Madge would be the obvious choice to come in to fill the gap, given that Dean is injured (again). Perhaps Will Kelly could get a run down back?
