Expanding on a few posts from a different thread.How many Dark Ambient fans are on here?This is my favourite genre after metal,and there is some crossover between the two.For those who maybe haven't heard any dark ambient before,let me introduce you (if you have the patience):

Lustmord - The man credited with starting the dark ambient genre.He has also worked with some famous bands such as Tool and The Melvins,among others.He has worked on dozens of films as well,including The Crow and Underworld.

These are just some of the more well known dark ambient artists.The genre goes very deep,and there is alot of crossover with black metal,industrial,ambient,martial and even classical music.

I'll bring some more.Not the easiest thing though,it's not exactly the most common genre on youtube,what with the track lengths and all.

I dunno I quite liked it... More than Geisterfaust at least.

A few tracks in the middle of Dolores, mainly Unkerich, Still Am Tresen really grab my attention.

Trist is dark ambient mixed with black metal.There is a short excerpt from 'Hin',but the real track is an hour long.I can't even describe how good it is.It is long ambient parts with a real astronaut (can't remember which) talking over the ambient music about the universe and time,then kicks into some trance style melodic black metal,then back and forth.For me,it is genius.

Darkspace - Darkspace 3.14 - Darkspace is along the lines of Trists Hin,dark ambient interspersed with trance like black metal.Most just call it atmospheric black metal but it is definitely dark ambient as well.

Not the best example of the band, but they have grown to be one of my faves... I strongly recommend everyone check out the debut self titled for them...

Well he only listened to them recently on my suggestion so

Some of their stuff is perfect, the other half, too intense at times to sleep

Hmm dunno then.I definitely posted a utube clip of them some time ago.Possibly in that old experimental/avante garde thread.Yeah intense is the word.Jazz is exactly that.

Filosofem was alright....bit overrated....

When you merge DA and BM is the best results for both i believe.
