Just in case I missed it, has Wayne's-World addressed this yet? You're right.
Your old mate Elite Crow wanted to let you know that the coaches gave him votes in his 3 good games out of those 8 (all 3 were against bottom 8 opponents).
The other 5 performances (including 5 of the first 6 games of the season) netted him a grand total of 0 votes.
Hardly a good start to the year I wouldn't have thought.
But honestly, who cares what his start to 2015 was like? It's been blatant for 4 years now that Mackay is not a difference maker at AFL level. He's a solid depth outside player who wouldn't be in any competitive side's best 22 in 2016. He won't be in our side either if all of Knight, Cameron, Menzel, Seedsman, Hampton, Smith etc are fit to start the year. The return of Henderson and Jaensch to calculations by Round 5-10 will make his path to senior footy even harder, and it's pretty easy to see Milera going past him by the bye (if he hasn't already).
Mackay has been kissed on the dick in the past by our club's lack of viable alternative outside options. That issue has now been rectified, and I wouldn't mind betting that D-Mac gets traded for a bag of chips this offseason (pick 40-50) to a struggling Victorian club like Essendon, Melbourne or Carlton.

Most of the team struggled. Mackay embarrassed himself. Do you remember the incident in the goalsquare? I refuse to call it a contest.

Oh stop with the emotive stuff already. Hatred?? really? This is exactly what I was thinking when this whole thing started. You are not content to leave it as the whole team struggled, no you have to isolate one incident. This is the hatred part I was talking about. Absolutely no need for it IMO. This applies to others on here as well not just you. Getting back to incidents like that, I forget over the years how many times by different players rubbish like that has happened. As a player, you just pick yourself up and try and do better.

I dont believe there is one poster on this board who hates David Mackay.
There are plenty of posters on this board who are simply frustrated at his continued selection over a number of years based on 1 half decent game in every ten, and they happen to be passionate about the issue. But hatred? no.
I doubt anyone hates him - his continued selection maybe.Well how about stopping the derogatory remarks every time his name gets mentioned then.If that is not showing hatred towards a player most of us don't know personally I don't know what is. IMO there is a fine line between passionate and hatred.
I doubt anyone hates him - his continued selection maybe.
I think you will find most have a grudging respect for him. We all aspire to hit that perfect point in our lives where we know we are gaining maximum money for minimum output.
David is there and we can only envy his position.
Sigh. I was Davids biggest fan. But he has let us down again and again. I don't hate him but that final v Hawthorn proved we have to move on and he has a huge amount of work to do to get another chance. This is exactly what I was thinking when this whole thing started. It has nothing to do with the hatred of Mackay, he is either good enough or isnt, but the club is and should be open for discussion, on why he was given a large, long contract and a lot of game time if his performance doesnt warrant it!
Why was he given the contract?FGS we all know why he was given the long contract. Do we need to be reminded endlessly. Look there reaches a point where one has to stop acting like a dog worrying a bone and just let it go. Peace and sanity will return to your lives.

Mackay has been there ever since he signed his contract.
It will be so funny if he has a blinder of a year in his final year of the current contract.

The common reason I have gathered by reading on here is Melbourne offered him a long term deal which we matched as we had a dearth of outside runners at the time. Thanks, Yippett and Vlad. (2 bigger arseholes you will never find). No other reason makes sense.
And the sense i get ...is that great performance will disappoint many .......understand that logic
The name of the bloke who was getting paid large sums to protect our interests was a Mr Steven Trigg. I wouldn't bother directing my anger anywhere else. Mr Steven Trigg.
