Well if David Noble gets the job at Brisbane who do we go for as our forward line coach.

I dont mind so much as it may be a breathe of fresh air.

Who are some of our options? Would he start immediately?

First option would be Ricciuto. I like the fact that he's played as a forward and as a midfielder so he knows a thing or two about working within a forward line as well as delivery into it. Could benefit our ball movement in a big way by having him work with both the forward and midfield groups.

Next option would be Carey, can't imagine any available people out there who would have a better understanding of forward structure than this guy.

Strangely enough, I've definitely been on the ”less former players as coaches” bandwagon, but these guys would have to be amongst the best going around.

To offset the inclusion of one of these guys we could possibly move Hart on, Bickley to defensive coach and bring in Kirk. Hmmm....Ricciuto, Kirk, and Bickley in the same coaching panel, wouldn't be left wanting for genuine leadership qualities that's for sure. Man I'd love for this to happen....

Well would we get a former forward? Would we get a former AFL player? Or would we just get a guy who wants to be a coach and stick him as a 'forward' coach.

Wayne's a big enough prick for me to want him here. Plus, who better to mould Tippett, Walker, Davis, Talia, McKernan, Gunston etc?

I know this may not go down well but I would love to see Jars given an assistant coaches role.

Or we could go for someone more experienced. I hear Neale Daniher is not enjoying his General Manager role at West Coast. Possibly a similar set-up to what Port have with Williams/Laidley.

Which Jars??? Darren i hope. Although andrew did a pretty good job with the *****....for a season or two.

A Jarman. Good call, interesting call, love to be a fly on the wall call, Garry.

Certainly won't be afraid to shake things up a bit - temper his enthusiasm and craziness with the conversativness already there (and vice versa) and 'could' be a beneficial outcome.

I'd go Wayne Carey.

I'd be careful with that one. By his own admission, Carey does not have the mindset for a coach. He said (paraphrasing) that his understanding of the game is largely intuitive and he doesn't know how to teach it. He mentioned something about becoming frustrated with people when they didn't understand certain things.

Things may have changed since I read that, but it's worth keeping in mind that just beause people are brilliant at what they do, doesn't mean they can teach it.

We have a forward coach? Anyway, if he does leave i'm sure we have a defensive coach in waiting at another club to fill the void, or perhaps Hart could change roles.:p

Only thing with D Jarman, a hell of a lot of what made him good simply can't be taught.

Sage advice ;)

A Jarman needs to coach a win before I would be remotely interested in him coming into the AFC coaching panel.

He is sitting at 0 - 9 for this season afaik. Sitting at 1 - 7 I dont think this is the type of coach we should be looking for.

Not sure a good assistant needs to be a good head coach.

I'd argue for a start that Craigy as an assistant got us 2 premierships when combined with Blighty's brilliance. On his own as a head coach he hasn't got there and also seems to have significant issues that many believe will always hold im back in that regard (mainly around stubborness/game day changes etc)

I know nothing of AJarman's coaching abilities but I do know he has some quite insightful comments about footy, has infectious enthusiasm and loves to play a free-flowing exciting brand of football. He also highly values talent over and above discpline. All those attributes could be a nice offset for Craigy.

This is it in a nutshell. Both Carey and DJ were intuitive players. You can't teach that sort of brilliance.
