Congratulations Blue Baggers on the appointment of David Teague. All B.S, banter and good natured niggle aside, the competition is infinitely better when Victorian Teams are strong, and from 80’s rivalry point of view, far more enjoyable for this Hawk fan when Blues are up and about. I don’t care if it’s a young kid getting drafted or in this case a young man realising his dream of coaching at AFL, I always enjoy seeing hard work rewarded and young people prosper with their life goals regardless of club loyalty. I’ve got a nephew in draft consideration this year and two boys of my own (14 and 15) that clubs are already into through their respective futures and talent ID programs. Seeing what they have to give up as kids, it’s good to know that the clubs they may go to all have good people, and Teague really does seem like a great players man and good person. I hope you guys continue to grow and have better times ahead - just not against the Hawkers.
Thanks Jeff

and long may you run.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We've just signed our next premiership coach.

Congrats David.

Yet another impressive appointment of an impressive person, which continues to strengthen my confidence in the vision and strategies the club embraced at the end of 2015, while continuing to banish past flawed mindsets of messiahs. While the club have made and will continue make some mistakes (like all organisations), the direction continues to be unwavering

Teague now faces new, but exciting challenges in transitioning the list, gameplan and tactics in this second phase. It seems he is willing to embrace those challenges and having player support/buy-in is a great start.

Not sure what level of success this rebuild will have, but it does continue to look and feel completely different to any of our past false dawns of the last 2 decades

Well done David Teague, well done Carlton Football Club

Teaguey, people questioned why you were the interim coach and Amos was not. The last 9 weeks have been absolutely fantastic and he has proved doubters wrong of his potential ability. We as supporters should be excited and be getting behind the appointment. I hope he, Crippa and Doc are lifting elusive #17 in the not too distant future.

Well done, Teaguey. Proud and very happy that you’re taking us forward on this journey. Up the baggers

Our 2007-2011 era was built on a handful of top-end draft picks and Juddy, past that the list was weak. A true false dawn.

It is different this time.

We are now a proper club for these modern AFL times.

And yet in 5 years time we could be doing this all again and saying 2020 side was built on top-end draft picks with a few free agents, a false dawn.

Changing my sig in light of our CEO's comments.

"I look at this club right now, I look at the talented playing list, I look at the off-field stuff, the membership growth, the crowds, the commercial growth and the little things like the close proximity to the CBD in Melbourne," Liddle said.

"I just look at it and think, 'gee if I was a player or an administrator at another club' … why wouldn't you want to come to Carlton?

- Cain Liddle earlier today

David will be our man for all seasons. He’s a networker in the best sense and that’s why all sections of the club are happy that he has been appointed coach.

I’m happy.

I hope you’re happy too.
