Why do I get the feeling many here want us to lose to increase the pressure of Teague?

You would have to be a rather spiteful fan to want that.

Can Understand wanting to lose for draft pick/trading reasons (not that I agree with it), but actively cheering against your team so the coach gets sacked is pathetic form imo.

And I am not naming names or accusing anyone here, but I am almost sure that is what some either here or on social media are thinking.
I haven’t read “spite” in any comments/thoughts made on this thread..
Are you happy with our game plan/structure, selection, player development and where we currently sit...we’ve regressed and I don’t see any positive signs of us becoming better anytime soon...the responsibility of another failed season sits squarely with the coach and head of football.

Can Teague honestly put his hand on his heart and say Murphy & Newnes are the best selections for the Carlton FC moving forward after everything we’ve seen so far that’s OK if he believes it, but for one reckon it’s borderline negligence and I don’t want him around anymore 😕

It's football nihilism.

I'm not sure about wanting us to lose, but a lot of people would like it to be obvious either way.

My greatest preference would be to win the 9 remaining games, make the 8 and win all finals = Teague stays.

Second preference would be we are a much improved side and go something like 7 and 2 = Teague stays.

If we go 4 and 5 or similiar, with nothing shown from the younger blokes where does that leave us?

So then there is the preference that it is really obvious as soon as possible that we need to move on from Teague - so that we know we have to, and we do. Unfortunately that is facilitated by clearly underperforming.

Whilst it shouldn't be anyone's preferred option, it is probably better than having no idea what we should do.
This is very well put. If we could go 7 and 2 from here we would all be happy as. I think the fear of many of us is that we win ~4 more games (against weak opposition) and indecision leads to continued status quo. That might be the worst possible outcome.

Teague Train track 17.🚂
To the tune and some lyrics from
I Believe in You by Neil Young from After the Gold Rush.

Now that we've found ourselves losing our minds
Are we here
Again
Finding that what we once thought was real is gone
And changing
Now that we've watched our team failing
Do you think you can change it in one game?
How are the Bombers above us?
Am I lying to you when I say
That I believe in you?
Oh oh oh oh oh ohhhhhh
I believe in you...
Watching the game each week
I see my questions
I feel my doubts
Hoping that maybe in a year or two
We can laugh
And let it all out
Now that we've watched Carlton failing
Do you think you can change it in one game?
How is St Kilda above us?
Am I lying to you when I say
That I believe in you?
Oh oh oh oh oh ohhhhhh
I believe in you...

Just looked at the fixture, 7 very winnable games with only port and Geelong as the real tough challenges. Need to win 4 of those 7 to be a pass for those games. If we were any good we should win 6 of them

I'll take 4 and 5 at this stage.....

Serious?

If we beat Adelaide, GC, Pies and North (all bottom 6) that would mean an 8 and 14 season, having beaten no-one in the 8.

Whilst from where we sit now, it sounds reasonable to win 4 more, it should be considered totally unacceptable in the 6th year of a rebuild.

I meant from the last 9 games, I'll take 4 wins at this stage (based on how we are playing). No need to get your knickers in a knot [emoji1751][emoji1787]

If we were any good (which were not) we should win 6 or 7 of the last 9.

Tom Browne reporting that our review is expected to be completed in about four weeks. Reckons DT needs to win at least a couple of the next four to save his job.

This is bad news for David Teague, Browne is arbitrarily making up a number of wins. He is also wrong once again.

The review is broad and deep and it’s doubtful that a couple of wins would neuter its findings.

With all due respect, how would you possibly know that (and yes granted, it's Tom Browne i know).

I keep going on about this, the rebuild was flawed and we took too many shortcuts, esp with too many GWS rejects.

I am in favour of going on another mini rebuild with another big list cull at season's end, even if Teague does not stay on as coach.

This list is nowhere near close to premiership winning material, and I defy anyone who is brutally honest to suggest otherwise.

Why would it be that suddenly the next four weeks, rather than the last 4 (including a bye) are make or break?

It’s logical that the review is about relationships and plans and procedures. These things will play a role and longer term, lead to success.

Fair enough. At this stage I am thinking its 55-45 odds Teague stays on next season.

I hope this review also takes into account our list management and esp youth development, which has been a massive failing of this club for a long time now.

Also our culture needs addressing. There is far more problematic issues facing this club than just the coaching..

Frustrates me so much when so many (imho) normally good, intelligent and insightful posters on this board don't seem to understand that.

That is the point of this review. A lot more than David Teague's tenure is being put under the microscope here.

A comprehensive review of the Football department will take longer than 4 weeks i would have thought.

I dont think DT's future will be based on the next 4 weeks results.

This Tom Browne seems a bit of a goose.

Most people would have said the same about Melbourne last year, alot of the issues highlighted come down stronger work ethic, game plan is totally useless no defensive structures at all, these things can be fixed with a stronger leader, the list has the foundation requires another quality midfielder as a key focus.

Had to check that this is an actual word.

I can understand if the club wanted the review to be completed ASAP but I’m not sure 4 weeks is adequate.

Ideally the club get to work with the review findings before season ends giving them time to sort some on field stuff out.

Looking at what Clarko is doing with Hawks right now, I'd rather him than Lyon. By lots. That is a developing team. Against GWS....

That dickhead just put one of his players out of footy for a month due to concussion from thug boxing methods at training

Well,
If rumours are true and change is inevitable; out of Clarko V Lyon
I'm going for Lyon.
Just saying. ;)

Lyon is a much more acceptable option for me than Clarko.
