If I was playing him in the next game I'd get stuck into him for his missus fighting his battles.

Who thought that was a good idea? FFS

Incorrectly the media thought because it was Hughes brother, must have something to do his death
Funny how quick 9 news media were able to get Candice in the studio ( now must have big egg on there face )Candice ( nice youtube )
Is lookin after " brand Davy"

I wouldn't be shocked if Candice actually asked channel 9 if she could go on TV to talk about what happened yesterday.
Candice is a regular panellist on Sports Sunday. She wasnt just on the show to talk about her husband. She's a ****ing hopeless panellist on it who provides zero analysis or insight into actual sport but shes a panellist nonetheless.

What a complete non-story. Let's move on.

Agree. It's just a chance for Warner haters to sink the boot in. I don't know what was said, I don't care what was said. All I'd like to know is if the umpires gave him permission to leave the field. If not, why was he allowed to continue his innings afterwards?

The review, conducted by Simon Longstaff, found the Cricket Australia culture is “arrogant”, “bullying” and “dictatorial” in a 145-page document released on Monday.

Longstaff concluded there is a direct link between the actions of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft and the competitive, bullish culture created at executive level in Cricket Australia.

Smith and Warner are the central characters of the review — and their behaviour is seen as symptomatic of the troubled culture of professional cricket in Australia.

The review found the promotions and accolades given to Warner and Smith, despite their record number of ICC Code of Conduct strikes, reinforced a win-at-all-cost culture with no second thought to player behaviour.

“Over recent years, David Warner and Steve Smith have attracted the highest number of Code of Conduct breaches for international matches,” the review said.

“However, in the last two years, both men have been honoured — suggesting that poor behaviour is not considered to be linked to the concept of poor performance.

Interesting observation.

Surely his papers are stamped? I can’t see him representing us again.
I don't like Warner, but the difference in narrative between him and Smith is a bit much. For Smith, everyone is looking forward to the redemption story, while Warner is being ostracised. I get that Warner can be more abrasive, but they are both arrogant campaigners who got away with too much.

Yeah it seems like that’s the way it’s going currently. For me I’ve always seen Smith as that Kohli type of arrogance, where Warner is a just a pure flog. Can any of them adapt to this new culture? Smith maybe if he just concentrated on batting and that’s it. Warner I don’t see it, I don’t think they’ll want him around the younger players. Interesting to see what JL thinks in a couple of months.

Agreed. Looking back Warner is actually within his rights to feel pissed at the media for painting Smith as benevolent as he is oblivious and Bancroft as a small child, offering him up as the sacrificial lamb to save them from the public. Although he only has himself to blame for being last to cry in front of a camera.

Is this bit taking the piss? Between when the new code of conduct came in in September 2016 and and the Cape Town test, Smith had 0 ICC code of conduct breaches and Warner had 1. To put into perspective Kagiso Rabada had 5 by himself and our future nice guy captain Tim Paine also had 1.

The only way I can see that those numbers add up is if they include over-rate breaches and if they are including those that is the biggest piss-take ever considering only the captain can be done under that code.

If what is being reported is true, Warner has just announced to the world what a weak turd he is

To dish out shit your whole career and then cop something that is cricket specific and probably pretty fair - and then dummy spit..

Wow - soft ****
And acts as if he wasn’t expecting it. Come on, he’s going to be targeted whenever he is batting. Throw him off his game.

FMD what a weak piece of shit warner is. Loves to give it out but cant take it. Just a little boy trying to be tough when its suits him.

And then the missus has a sook no TV about it.

Cant wait till Aussie crowds start giving it to him and he sooks it up even more. Just a w***er and the quicker he is gone the better.

Warner has form.
Smith has ticked every box he can to get where he is. Ironically was gifted a spot as a bowler without doing squat to earn it but went away and turned himself into a run making machine. He’s had a good behavioural history, he’s early into his captaincy, and it’s been generally acknowledged that, while his non-actions at cape town were spineless, he wasn’t a driving factor in what happened. Warner has been on the edge of a major fall his whole career. He didn’t really pay his dues to get into the test side, most of his career has been based around stuffing his pockets with home town runs each summer and living off them for the next nine months aside from the odd sporadic appearance in the runs column in SA, he’s a noted f***head, by all accounts he actively encouraged a young teammate to cheat having not had the balls to do it himself, he nearly caused a corridor brawl with the opposition because he could give it but not take it - you didn’t see QDK trying to attack Warner in there. Smith has also never had to be disciplined for throwing a punch at an opponent in public.

I think I can see why the redemption narrative applies to one and not the other

Aussie crowds will not give it to him mate. One decent score when he comes back and he will be a hero. The opinions of a few chumps on Big Footy is hardly an indication of how the Nation feels about him. Real cricket fans will open him back with open arms.

They will both be back almost instantly. But expect Warner to be on a tight leash and further suspension handed down if he fails to live up to the mark.

They might be in a desperate state by February. It could be a very long summer. But I think they need to stick with what they are bringing to the team now.

The jump he did after scoring a century on day 5 at the scg against the West Indies after the first four days had basically been rained out was a bit of a tipping point for me

Time to take off the rose coloured glasses Candice, he's not welcome back

He wouldn’t want to fail on Boxing Day. Especially if he takes Hanscombe or Pucovski’s spot.

These the actual charges the players faced. Firstly, if sponsors were jumping off, that is clearly harmful to the interests of cricket. And secondly, they clearly acted in a manner contrary to the spirit of the game, unbecoming of a representative or official, and brought the game into disrepute. Whether the angry people were cricket fans or not is irrelevant.

(a) knowledge of a potential plan to attempt to artificially alter the condition of the ball;

(b) failure to take steps to seek to prevent the development and implementation of that plan;

(c) directing that evidence of attempted tampering be concealed on the field of play;
d) seeking to mislead Match Officials and others regarding Bancroft’s attempts to artificially alter the condition of the ball; and

(e) misleading public comments regarding the nature, extent and participants of the plan

David Warner was charged with a breach of Article 2.3.5 of the CA Code of Conduct based on:

(a) development of a plan to attempt to artificially alter the condition of the ball;

(b) instruction to a junior player to carry out a plan to take steps to attempt to artificially alter the condition of the ball using sandpaper;

(c) provision of advice to a junior player regarding how a ball could be artificially altered including demonstrating how it could be done;

(d) failure to take steps to seek to prevent the development and/or implementation of the plan;

(e) failure to report his knowledge of the plan at any time prior to or during the match;

(f) misleading Match Officials through the concealment of his knowledge of and involvement in the plan; and
