Voss is a decent mid/def for Sandringham, but is decent at u/18's level good enough to be drafted? im not sure
Nyoun is a handy tall for Dandenong, he is used more for structure as a ruck, tall forw, he could be a rookie option to develop
Mifsud is a decent forw for Sandringham, again is decent at u/18 level good enough?
Milne i am not sure.
overall i think maybe Nyuon is a late/rookie chance, Voss could also be a slight chance as rookie if he interviews and tests well, from what i have seen of them thats my thoughts, depends on St Kildas recruiting strategy, they might decide to not recruit any of them?
Considering the Saints have one first round pick then three in the fourth round, we might pick up one or two of them.

WA 86 - 69 VM
the result was closer than it should have been, with WA cruising in the last quarter, i feel as though if VM had selected Zak Pretty and Eddie Ford it would help them, best for VM imo was McAsey, he is growing in stature by the week, Worrell also with 4 goals and plenty of marks kept VM in with a slim chance, Rowell played ok, Maginness played well, Anderson was disappointing, Bianco, Mellis, Watts and Butler all had a good influence in the game, but VM had too many passangers and WA had too much skill and energy
WA were well served by Robertson in the middle winning clearances and linking play, Sharp was busy on the flanks, Ruscoe was steady coming out of defence especially in the first half, Henry and Bennell were dangerous up forw, Henry with his marking and goal kicking and Bennell with his speed, Taylor did well early but kind of went in and out of the game, Luke Jackson was impressive, i would have him ranked as the 2nd best ruck in the draft behind Comben, i hope they play each other when WA V VC.....
ALLIES 19 - 116 VC
Allies were put to the sword, O'Neill was their best with quality ball control, Green was battered and beaten, but still got a bunch of clearances and tough inside work, Davis, Thorne and Budarick also had decent games, the Allies side selected is very strange, half the team isnt up to this level of footy and the Allies might be the whipping boy of these Championships, i hope they select a real team next week and perform better.
VC are going from strength to strength, they have been the most impressive team so far, not only in their destruction of VM but in their annihilation of the Allies, Serong has risen in my ratings, Baldi has also been super impressive, Flanders, Young, Ash, Hollands, J.Smith, Cahill, Weightman, Dow, Kemp, Rowles, L.Williams the list goes on

I agree with your assessment of the Allies team!
I know that skill is supposedly important but with so many accumulators and so few defensive/tough players, this was always going to be the result.
Small underagers were again too small and out of their depth.
Green was the only big body in the mid, and without a second or third he struggled to get blocks and quality ball.
If he gets no ball, there is very little go-forward.
Country's mids blitzed, and most were 80kg plus.
They were playing to win and dominate, and they did!
A team that is balanced and showcases all relevant playing requirements will always beat a team of high accumulators.
Let's hope that a few of the bigger Allies get a run next game.
Too many chosen on the word of Sheehan and not enough on the understanding of the academy coaches.
Lions, GCS, Swans and Giants have a few kids playing good NEAFL games, and working against listed big bodies.
If they can't see their mistakes, the selectors are crucifing most players in and out of the team!

The score line is a measure between the two teams.
The Allies were measured and found to be not up to the same quality. You can argue that individuals showed there wares but as a team.. well the score is the score..
I completely agree.
They were tested and found wanting.
As explained, the team was chosen as individuals rather then the best combination of a team.
Put 15 Eddie Betts on a team and see how well they go against a great team.
But put a couple of Eddie's into a team where he can do his thing because there are others doing the grunt work, and he shines.
I take my hat off to the Vic Country selectors, tgey chose a team to win, while the Allies simply put together stats gatherers, and left the idea of team out.

I felt for Green - he got body checked at most contests but was still clean and won clearances. Basically no help from his other allies mids - it’s a basic game plan...stop him in the middle and allies won’t get drive.
Whereas plenty VC players had 2hrs of a ‘training drill’ to pad stats. Not saying its their problem, but disappointing from Allies players who got shown up.

I always struggled with the Green hype.
However, over the past month he has been outstanding and creates go forward with clean possessions. I have been converted.
But without help, it is too easy to just tag him out of it.
Very few ball ups or throw ins saw Allies dominate their opposition, because most were at a 10kg disadvantage.
So Green is nullified and ball only goes in 1 direction.
I think with all Green's skills, he was never given the opportunity to show up.
Bulk the team up with more substantial players, with tanks and who will put their heads over the ball and make tackles that the opposition will remember in a day or two.
If the Allies selectors aren't chosing teams to try and win, they are taking the draft off the table for those being dominated on the field, and not providing opportunities for those not selected and can do the job.
O’Neill was good, so was Murray & Green and that was about it
There was never a doubt about Oneil or Martyn putting their heads over the ball or tackling hard.
They made the recruiters continue to notice their hard at it play.
Both boys will sleep well tonight, but there should be a lot who are tossing and turning, wondering if they will get a second shot at Nats.

Rough to drop Anderson down when he missed the last quarter and still managed 7 clearances for the game, Metro also seem to refuse to rotate him forward unlike Country with Serong.

atm i personally like my top 3 as 1. Rowell, 2. Serong, 3.Anderson, Rowell is a long time performer and usually in big games too, Anderson isnt as solidified as top 2 pick from my PoV he has disappointed in a few big games for me tbh last year and this season, i think his best is better than most but his worst is worse than others as well, he has a higher ceiling and lower floor, Serong has done nothing wrong this season and his Championships form is impeccable as well as his 2018 performances which were also note worthy.
for me its based on the collective form and work of at least 1 1/2 seasons.

Just as a note if Anderson played in that Country team yesterday they could have slotted him at FF and he would have kicked 5. Metro have been slack with Anderson and only playing him through the middle since he is their only tall inside mid. I like Serong but Anderson’s form this year has been sensational and quick to forget how dominant he was in the Nab League before going to school footy.

i have not forgot how good Anderson was this season and last, i just have not forgot how good Serong has been this season and last season and Serong seems to have a more consistent level and his strength in the centre and goal kicking is more impressive imo, but Anderson averages more disposals, whereas Serong is more effective imo
Serong was a leader and good performer in a very bad VC team in 2018 and for a V Good VC team in 2019.

if O'Neill had performed like this all year i would, but i think his performance on the weekend just validated his first round status imo

On a big stage too and he’s team was getting pumped did it last year to in these champs so he plays well in the big games

i think im going to next update my list after round 3 of the Championships, the higher quality games are shining a light on some vic and allies players i have seen a fair bit of in the last few months, it also allows me to see more of the WA and SA talent to get a better read on where i place them, it has been enlightening already with the first 3 games so far and after another 3 games in which i will be able to see WA V SA, Allies V WA and SA V VM, i will then have seen the interstaters 2 more times and the Allies once more, to form a solid opinion of them plus the Trials and some rusty memory of 2018 Champs.
