Cats current picks 14,35,55
They'd definitely prefer 14,21,35,55,73
than 14,30,35,48,55 wouldn't they?
How many players would they be looking to draft?
If it's the minimum 3 then there is no incentive whatsoever.
If it's 4 or 5 picks maybe some small improvement. But it's pretty much a crap shoot in the draft by 40+ anyway isn't it?

If this is it I can deal with it,

IN: Pick 5, 21, Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe, Jack Crisp
OUT: Dayne Beams, Heritier Lumumba, pick 25 (Greenwood), 30 + 48
Basically we get Pick 5 + 21 and Greenwood for Beams, then Varcoe and Crisp for Lumumba.
Correct.
So we've gone from 9, 30, 48, 67, 85 & 103 and 2 players we don't want.
To 5, 9,21, 67, 85 & 103 and Greenwood, Varcoe & Crisp - confirms Hine doesn't rate the draft above 25.
We will use a late pick to upgrade Frost and don't discount us signing a delisted free agent which uses another late pick.

Beams is worth pick 5 and Aish or Mayes. A crack at getting a gun and a potential ready made gun out and an out instant gun. Nothing more nothing less.
Its a buyers market. When are you going to get that into your think skull.

5 and 25 is unders. Crisp makes it less unders. Its about right. We were never going to get what Beams is worth

We don't have to trade. It's that simple. We said to Brisbane the deal is off.
Other clubs will take the piss out of us in the coming years of the trade period if we do that again.
No deal Brisbane was the statement letter I got from the club on Friday. If I'm getting a another one this week saying we've back tracked I wouldn't blame anyone for not turning up to watch us for a while.

Wow, just wow. Some people are taking this like they have been personally insulted.

We have been put in a shit position by a shit club and a shit bloke. It will not be forgotten. The hysterics is ridiculous, the club is doing the best it can do given the situation.

Saying we want a pick and a best 22 player for Beams meant we weren't going to accept picks and fringe players, saying the negotiations with Brisbane have ceased meant they had to give us exactly what we are after or we don't deal with them. So it's laughable to suggest we didn't back down....

But like I said last night, the proposed deal itself is actually ok.

Now that negotiations with Brisbane have ceased, Collingwood is free to pursue other opportunities involving players and picks. The club remains open to offers from other clubs for Dayne, if that is his wish.

If not, at the conclusion of the trade period the club will look to sit down with Dayne to prepare for the 2015 season.

Don't you guys read your emails?

That's the ******* club statement!

The replies haven't though I bet. A series of obvious replies that are out of context? It's fine once you learn to ignore those too though.
Yeah and I've just worked out I can click on the show ignored content if I really want to know ands it even tells me the ignored member has posted.
So guess what I do? Ignore it!!

It sounds like the 21 to Christensen deal is just about done. Does that mean that Geelong will ontrade that to us if Varcoe is deemed slightly less valuable than Clark and lumumba with the addition of the 30 and 48 picks?

It does sound like we will add pick 5 and 21 together for something else. If we packaged those two together do you think we could move up to a pick 2? or even a pick 1 with maybe a sweetener?

The AFL should put in the rules that if contracted player wants to leave a club they have to either nominate 2 clubs of preference and commit to either club or lose 20% of their salary on the new contract. But the clowns just don't know what they're doing so I doubt anything will change.

The statement was a tactic and it has seemingly worked to get an increased offer and to show our seriousness.

It's all tactics. At the end of the day we have until Thursday to trade him or he stays a pie.

I actually think Hine and co have done the best they could in a tough situation to fight a draw.

We were never going to get market value here unless beams told them he would only come if fairly compensated. He would've done that if it was just about his father.

The fact he hasn't indicates to me we do not need this guy on our list anymore.

The club didn't say we wouldn't trade with Brisbane. They said we won't keep negotiating with them. If they come back to us with a better deal that we like we will deal with them. But we will not sit at the table and go back and forth. We are doing that with other sides.
