I hope he starts tomorrow and plays 3 quarters then if he does play well we can congratulate him if he doesnt then he's had at least one decent chance and kelvin and longy can tear him to pieces, but until that day he plays at least 3 qt's then we can only go by potential and half games.

Dyson reminds me a little of Ben Haynes (even though Ben was more a forward). They both have talent; but aren't able to take the next step. Unless Dyson does take the step, like Winders has (which isn't beyond him), he may be cut from the list.

I'm not going to say he's worthless like some people suggest. Many players take some time to develop.

It was not that long ago there were a lot of Winders Baggers, Laycock too (I was one of them) I really hope Dyson gets a good run and is able to push for regular senior selection... Imagine how quick we will be getting with Winders, Stanton, Davey, Dyson, Lovett all Firing in the same team!!

PS A group of fringe/middle tier players taking the next step is the kind of stuff that can win you a premiership! Especially in a close year like this where anything could happen come finals time. Good luck Ricky.

OMG some of you so called supporters frustrate me so much. MJ held robertson goaless upto halftime last friday night and robertson only kicked his 3 in the 3rd quarter. to be honest i thought MJ was one of our best last week

Also gave away a free kick in the goalsquare which would of made it 4 in a half of footy had the ball not gone through for a goal, he got killed in the second half and has struggled all year

I remeber the game againt the bulldogs round 22 last year from memory where he had 22 pozzies up to 3 quarter time and was one of essendon best but for some reason not due to injury he sat on the bench the entire last quater...............

we didn't want to win that game

He gets half a game everytime and most times ends up with around 15 possies then gets bagged.

some people here who are bagging ricky were probs the same people who have ripped into winders over the years. before this season winders hardly had any game time just like ricky. give him at least 80 minutes to prove himself

He worked very hard for his possies which was a step in the right direction, his 3rd quarter in particular was very productive.

The rest of the game though was too quiet, he cant find the ball with ease like Nash and Stanton. Winderlich was in this boat aswell until this year.

Doesnt help in sum parts though when guys like Pev see him in the clear and refuse to pass it too him. We'll leave the discussion of Pev for another thread though.

Serivcable is probably the best was to describe it. He played ok but he is still too indicisive . His role is to play in a similar style to Winderlich but he just doesnt seem to be able to have the running impact that Winders has.
I quetion if he has the footy smarts to have an impact. Too many times he gets caught in nothing positions as his thinking isnt quick enought to decide if he should go to a contest or to space or pick up a man. It is too bad really as he would be a bloody dangerous player if he could mirror some of Winderlichs efforts.

Running to the wrong spots, not putting enough pressure on, not doing enough with it.

No influence whatsoever.

I just don't think he has the footy smarts to be able to go up another level like Winderlich.

ricky needs a lot of work, he has shown that he has pace and a good left foot, but he doesnt show it enough, we need him to step up to the plate NOW, get that hard running and ball carrying going and show us why he is on our list....

i still believe he has the skills to make it as a good player, but he has to put the hard work in

Dyson is a dud....come match time.

Great at training,great at Bendigo,but when it comes to the crunch during a game...he's suspect. Always struggling,gets caught time after time and I've just about had enough of him.

Did anyone see the disposals of Geelong's young Wojcinski? Thats how Dyson should be playing. Ricky should get the highlights of this kid's aggression at the ball and have a look at his smart play while under pressure.

Compare Wojcinski's usefull 7 kicks to Dyson's 8. It's hard to find a Dyson kick that did any damage.
14 handballs to Ricky's 9..Wojinski's were far more effective compared to Dyson's hurried,panic disposals..putting his team mates under pressure with poor options at times.

And to all those people here who cry..."Yer,but they don't give him enough game time'...give me a break
He's had dozens and dozens of chances to show his stuff and make us believe that he belongs in this senior side. He just hasn't got it imo.

Last night showed (once again) how important Stanton and Winderlich are for the centre bounces and playing in our MF. Lovett did well I think..others think he didn't...
Watson has learn't to kick..he's going good.

But put Dyson in and look out...panic stations!!!

Johns is f---ing useless....trade him I say at years end before we get nothing for him.
McPhee just doesn't do enough. Wake up Adam!

On the positive.....Nash,Slattery and Welshy..good efforts

Nash looks more comfortable with every match,Hislop compare to Houli's games...not bad for a debut..looks good.
