Dear Ricky Dyson

I think Stanton stands ahead of Nash at the moment, no matter how well Nash has played in the last month.

You're comparing a player who's been in the side for 3-4 yrs now to a player who's only just now making his mark.

Besides, Stanton plays much like Robert Harvey and just runs all day, whereas Nash plays off bursts when he receives the ball and drills them in fast.

To be truthful, Nash potentially looks more dangerous than Stanton when he has the ball.

kelvin lets just clear up a few things up. you have said a few times aker made ricky look silly and he outsmarted him.

aker is 3 time preimership player, brownlow meadlist and 200+ game pplayer.

i think he should be outsmarting ricky. but ricky held his own.

just swallow your pride and admit he played well.(or played his roll wee atleast)

if he doesnt play well next week then go back to bagging him but for now you have nothing.

They were drafted in the same year, Nash at 28, Stanton at 13. Marcuz was saying he would've taken Nash at 6, I, personally, would prefer Stanton. That's where the comparison came from.

Nash looks good but Stanton has some incredible runs on the board for a 21 year old. Stanton looks more like a sure thing to me, Nash is much more of an unknown given that teams are only just finding out how he plays. Nash has more hurdles to jump, Stanton seems over the hurdles given he's been tagged all season and still managed to play good football.

IMO I reckon he played less than half a good game. Had on good quarter, one ok'ish one and 2 not that good.

This week is another big chance for him. He goes up against guys his age or younger that have shown a fair bit. If he can't perform against them then I'm not sure if he ever will.

Spot on.
He's nearing a 10th, maybe 11th hour I feel.

You can't put his career down to one game, his career will come down on every game he's played and every training session he's attended at the end of the season. They're not going to look back at the end of the season and say, "he didn't play well against Collingwood so he never will" just as they won't keep him on the basis of his performance against the Bulldogs.

I'd like to hear your views on Trent Cotchen who came up against guys his own age and didn't perform in the U/18 Championships, will he ever perform?

All those waiting for Dyson to turn into a solid, damaging, hard, gutsy, highly skilled Essendon player...wait some more.

Its never going to happen....lets just all face it..accept it.

.....And just trade the f---er.

It's not that simple

Do you think we'll be able to trade him for a solid, damaging, hard, gutsy, highly skilled Essendon player?

Did okay the other night lets see how he goes in a big game against the Pies with a massive crowd. If he could become two or three out of the five criteria you set then I'd be happy.

that goal in the 4th quarter today is what you should be doing week in and week out.

a much better effort today, but still going missing too often.
(although he certainly wasn't alone today)

Another weak effort from him.

Anyone see the bit where Jobe was on the mark after a free to Ben Johnson but Dyson ran up to stand on the mark allowing the Collingwood to run free. It wasn't his man but he should have had more awareness than that.

Not to mention a pissweak player also. Goldsack picking him up off the ground and dumping him like that early in the second quarter (if Im not mistaken)

I must say even I was dissapionted with his efforts today. He always either seemed to cough it up under pressure or sell his teammates into pressure with handballs. But as has been mentioned before, there were far worse players than him and he should keep his spot.

On a positive note, Ricky is set to move into a unit next to Andrew Welsh in the near future, so hopefully that will have a positive influence on him.

Altohugh it was an average overall game today i am not going to totally flame him. As usual i was watched him pretty closely and he was one of only a few players who at least made an effort to run to space in the first half unlike a few of his mates who just tried to stay on there men even when we had the ball. Or NLM for that matter who stood in the center square waving his arms around like a trafic cop.
It wasnt much off a game from Rick today but the whole team was pretty ordinary.

I just don't get it.

If you dont get that people see the game differently then you should stop commenting on footy. I would have thought that bit was universal ;)

Another disappointing performance by him. As much as I hate to say it, he is fast running out of chances. At least he stood up a bit in the last qtr when we needed players to stand up. But there were a couple of pissweak efforts he put in. He needs to work on his defensive pressure alot aswell.
