But Nelson! He's been utter rubbish this season, Naish had a poorer game last week but should've had credits in the bank. Nelson isn't a whipping boy anymore, he's just a shite player...

Winder is good in the sense we are playing youth but I actually came away deom his peel game disappointed. I just tuned in when he was hot but throughout the game I became more and more angry by his poor work rate

I'm going to suggest a theory that WCE have pulled Naish so he doesn't win the club champion award by default.

Reckon it might be a reward. Gets to put his feet up and avoid being involved in an AFL record slaughter. He's probably chuffed.

I think we can only use Covid top ups when we have guys with Covid. Not sure there are many this week. Plus we have enough players to field a team with our listed players.

There’s a fantastic irony in the fact that he couldn’t get drafted as a wingman, spent years in the WAFL developing into a powerful inside mid, gets drafted and then made to play as a wingman.

This. Our development has been stifled by games going to this group who almost without exception haven’t proven they’re gonna be 200 game players. None of Petro, Langdon, Nelson, Rotham, Waterman, JJ, SPS, Witherden, Cole etc. have shown anything other than glimpses of potential. Seems nothing like a Judd amongst them. Honest at best, list cloggers at worst.

This has kept the next generation LEdwards, Hough, Trew, HEdwards, Jamieson, Winder, XON, Foley, BWilliams etc from getting much more than the odd game (maybe out of position).

We are lucky there is almost nothing we can do at the selection table which could see us accused of tanking.

To me from now on we only select Mentors and Trainees. Everyone else plays WAFL regardless of name or contract. Time to get serious about the rebuild.

I thought they had dropped Jameison when looking at the team lineup, then I saw him in the forward pocket, which is fine, but why then is Edwards playing if they bring in Williams?

Edwards can help in the ruck, or down back, can he play forward? Will they roll Barrass forward again to try change the stagnant forward line?

As for Naish out, wouldn't be my choice to drop this week as I thought the run would be important.

This isn't tanking. We are basically picking anyone who can walk a lap of Lathlain unassisted. With the exception of Naish and the under-done guys on limited WAFL minutes, there's literally no-one left.

If that results in a side with too many talls, so be it.
If that results in a side with too many backs, so be it.
If that results in a side with too many rucks and ruck forwards, so be it.
If that results in a side with too many underperforming, undeserving players, so be it.

In an ideal world with 42 guys to choose from, guys like ****** wouldn't get closer to a game than wiping down the whiteboard on selection night. But that's not the situation we find ourselves in.
