Considering this guy hurt his knee against WCE and should of had an operation by now its amazing how well he has played and how consistent he has been this year.
Has to be in the top 3 in our B&F.
Next year I think he will be a real match winner for us! Kicking goals from the midfield. Saw glimpses yesterday, if we had a dominant tap ruck man that could put the ball in space for lids to run onto - no one will catch him.

Lids has a had a great year, really stepped up another notch, another pre season and he could he could step into the elite category.

If it is at all possible, I think many still underate Brett Deledio... take his performances for granted.
I love Richo, Axel & Soda,
I really like our back half with Thursty, Moore & McGuane
But Lids has been my favourite player for a couple of years now.

Perhaps he will never quite be recognised as top 3 or 4 in the comp but for all-round skills, versatility and CLASS... I reckon he is already right up there.
(He will still only be 21 when next season begins too)

He epitomises the generational change underway at The Tigers.

Lids is definantly a shot a the B&F this year! Richo missed a few games and Lids tore them apart so could very well be in with a shot! Axel got pipped last year and Cho could unfortunantly could have the same happen to him!

Always rated Deledio and never been off the bandwagon.
If u referring to the Wallace post last week - I never said he should be sacked this year and I clearly stated that he must see his contract. I dont agree with you in saying that we should give him an extension this year and i still dont agree with that even after yesterdays victory.

Has improved out of sight this year. Good player. Didn't think he did much yesterday yet still racked up his 20+ possies and kicked a goal. Whilst I'll admit my head was in my hands for much of the day wondering how and AFL club can play so stupidly, I think it's a sign of maturity for a guy like Deledio that he can rack up his 20+ possies, yet not be seen as much as others. Doesn't just get easy touches out the back, works hard both ways and looks to be a future leader.

Deledio is already elite...amazing skills and quick as anything. Yet he can improve even more I believe. He bloody carved up Sewell yesterday didn't he. Who ever said Lewis is better than Lids should go shoot themself LOL.

Lids has been superb and is a consistently elite AFL performer.

Just because he hasn't reached his potential yet doesn't mean he's not elite already.

25-30 possies every week plus kicking goals weekly.

Incredibly fast and skilled.

He is almost the perfect footballer, what more can you ask for?

Talented young Tiger midfielder Brett Deledio may well be rewarded for his excellent consistency throughout the 2008 season with the coveted Jack Dyer Medal.

The No. 1 pick in the 2004 National Draft clearly has taken his game to another level this year, after winning the AFL’s Rising Star award in his 2005 debut season and finishing fifth in Richmond’s Best and Fairest count in 2007.

Statistics alone highlight Deledio’s reliability in season ’08 . . . He’s played all 20 games and is averaging 24.5 disposals per match, 6.8 marks per match and 4.2 inside-50 entries per match.

Deledio has racked up 25 or more disposals 12 times this season, he’s kicked 22 goals, and also has 16 goal assists to his credit.

He is ranked 12th in the competition for total disposals, 18th for total marks, and 19th for total inside-50 entries.

Not bad for a player who’s just 21 years and four months old, with less than 100 games experience at the game’s highest level (he’s played 82 games out of a possible 86 up to the end of Round 20, 2008).

Given the impact Deledio has made on such a consistent basis during the season, he must be rated one of the leading chances for the 2008 Jack Dyer Medal, along with the likes of Matthew Richardson and Shane Tuck.

‘Lids’ again played a major role for the Tigers in their stunning upset victory over second-placed Hawthorn at the MCG last Sunday, gathering 29 possessions (12 kicks, 17 handballs), taking 10 marks, laying five tackles, and kicking a classy, vital, inspirational goal.
