To me, the right decision was paid because the umpires would've known there were seconds left and the noise would've been a factor. They've been known to stop play and not pay advantage in those situations where there is too much chaos UNLESS the player has full control of the ball.

In this instance, correct decision despite whatever gets reported. The rules are interpreted differently all the time due to 'common sense'.
