Wow what a win.

As horrendous as the umpiring was…..in a weird way it probably helped us. Because the margin in the first half wasn’t really a true reflection of how the game was going.

I feel like the players weren’t bummed out mentally at the scoreboard.

And just kept plugging away in the 2nd half.
 
WOW, was on the bus on my way to work and thought gee this is getting rather close and then it was 6 points, amazing transition from the back half to find LDU and a goal and thought my god we can win this but that after getting so close they will probably kick a behind or goal to get over the line and then bang another fast transition and their defence panicked into trying to spoil Cam and giving away the free kick, FREE KICK, the siren goes, Cam kicks the goal, ARE YOU SERIOUS, we just won that game of footy, felt like I was Superman for the entire shift and that I could lift steel, ha ha fair dinkum, if you don't mind umpire, YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Oh, did I just mention the word umpire, I could go on about their effort today but we are all in agreeance, it was not their finest hour, but guess what, IT WAS OURS!!!!!!

When I got home about 11pm, made a sandwich, a can of coke and before I watch the game came on here, read every post on this thread and could not stop smiling, I love this club and our supporters and our players and something I've been saying for quite awhile on this bunch is "Its the little things" that one notices in games and it is happening more often, team effort all round and like others have mentioned how about that final roar when Cam ices the game, if you don't get the tingles hearing that you've got something other than blood in your veins, YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤩🥳😍

I honestly don’t even know how to say it properly, but the last 6 months has been some of the most difficult for me personally (not footy related). Yesterday though, that comeback, clapping to and singing the song after the final siren as well as getting high fives from random strangers, I basically had tears in my eyes on level 3. I haven’t felt that happiness for a while. I bloody love this club and everyone involved.

Join in the chorus Shinboners. Go Kangas!! Can’t wait to sing the song in the next win!

I know what your saying ShinboneSpirit, keep you head up and enjoy our teams performance today and most important, never give up on life, your ability to get through the hard things in your life are lessons we are meant to overcome, this will be different for everybody, keep going my friend cause while you may not see it now, things will get better, have faith!:)

Our reliance on Darling and Parker is concerning. Old man Darling had a stellar game yesterday and Parker just does a lot right when needed.

These old guards wont be there at our next tilt and need to be replaced.

No, X didn't mark it ! Apparently it was "touched" by the " VERY BRAVE "GC defender and was called " PLAY ON, PLAY ON " by the umpire !

Some of the unpaid frees where Rowell in particular wasn’t penalised were as blatant as the Heeney HTB against Sydney. They were screamingly obvious and can’t be written off as simply being mistakes. There was also the whack that had Curtis come off for a HIA that I’m sure would have had the media dogs baying for three weeks off if it had been Paul making the same high contact.

The issue is not the standard of umpiring. It is a far deeper problem than that.

and as always (after a win) i will be doing The Scamper next time i go to riding (at his grave while playing the club song)
 
Some huge corners turned in that game on a team and individual level which will build belief into the 2nd half of the season.

  • Beating a top 4 team
  • 2nd biggest comeback in history…let that sink in
  • Wardlaw not only running out the game but was the reason we won that game in the last qtr
  • O’Sullivan being a match winner. Yes the tag is great but look what he can do.
  • Comben turning his game around after a poor first half
  • Logue keeping a gun forward quiet by close checking
  • Duursma class
  • LDU match winning
  • Simpkin our best kick inside 50 and playing his role perfectly. He keeps that up and he is an all Australian wingman in future years
  • Zurhaar having a game changing influence as well.

Years of losing before the bye. Now we can go into it with solid building blocks. Wildcard is not out of the equation. If I was Clarkson I would be drilling this mindset into the boys.

I don’t know about you Hoj, but from my seat I could clearly see that no opposition player even got so much as a fingertip on the ball. I said to the blokes sitting next to me that I thought it should have been paid and I seem to remember them saying something similar at the same time.

I had to watch it on the t.v. at the ground as the two blokes next to me were pork chopping about it.
