I truly believe we could not have asked for a better fixture for where we are at than the one that we got this year.

Start the season consolidating where we are against those around us, be stretched to be more by those infront of us, get the opportunity to apply what we've had to do to step up against side more in our region.

I don't yet have full trust in them, in part because of how poorly we went against Adelaide. But hope is alive and well.

And I do not believe we have played our best footy yet, with large scope for improvement.
Even great teams like Brisbane can have an absolutely dreadful game like they did today.

I was listening to the radio during the 3rd quarter and GWS had kicked 4 goals at that stage. I thought 'Brisbane will get back into this' and did some errands.

Checked the scores again after 20 mins or so. 14 goals. What the **** Brisbane lol

hahahah I had to pause and rewind the Kayo feed on the replay to make out what was being said

Just lovely abuse
Probably the guy you could hear all day giving it to the GC players on the broadcast.
Was genuinely entertaining lol

The best thing about that win , our young players are now feeling part of the Club. No longer hoping to keep their spots in the team , they are quickly becoming the team .
Go The Mighty Roos

Still the best part was George at the end jumping around like the family dog who just wants to be involved with the humans being excited around him.
First thing came to mind watching George on the replay was the little bloke in the coat in this video throwing the ball in the air. Beyond excited but no idea what to do with himself:

If you remove the Adelaide game (I know you can't just pick and choose which games you leave in and take out but...), we're rated the 6th best team in the competition over our last 5 games (with a 2-3 record over that time)

If you include the Adelaide game, we're sitting in 10th. (with a 1-4 record over that time)

At the byes:
Our highest performing game this year - 233.6 vs. GWS (231.7 vs Richmond and 226 vs. GC our next best 2)
Our lowest performing game this year - 145.7 vs. Adelaide (181.9 vs. Brisbane and 186.2 vs. Essendon our next 2 worst)

Other than the Adelaide game, our performance over the last 6 games has been easily better than the first 5.
It's been a seriously successful year so far and we're carrying genuine momentum and real belief into the second half of the season.
LOL, love your work as always Souup but you don't work for the government by chance?
if we just take out all the things we don't like, look perfect stats..
:p

sure i did, X was being Maulled in center tap outs, actually when cooper went in he at leased halved a couple of center taps, but hey we can go with your version events if you like.

but it sure as hell wasnt the backline that won the game regardless of combens heroics.
X being mauled at centre tap outs has **** all to do with clearence.

The last 7 goals came from rebounds from defensive 50. It was Combens intercept mark and kick to a free Sheezel, McDonalds groundball intercept and handball out to afree Wardlaw, **** even Daniels kick from defensive 50 and a 150m gut run to set up another.

Sure hang shit on the backline when due but it was the combined backline ie Louge holding King to 1 goal that kept them in itand allowed for the socalled midfield heroics in the last qtr.

Wardlaw Foss etal got smashed for three qtrs by what is the best midfield combination Rowell Anderdon Petracca Miller , no shame in tbst but FFS to hang shit on the backline for that performance

Rumor always was Issac wasn't keen on coming to North ? ( or just a " rumor ? )
Is that right? Hadn't heard that - my reading at the time was that North Ballarat had two great runners in that premiership side, Isaac and Cam Richardson, and since we got Richardson for not much (complicated deal with Suns IIRC?), we hedged our bets with the first pick in that draft

Fox footy commentary yestersday.

Simmo to Healy: What do you think of the umpiring Gerard?

Healy: I think it’s been fair.

He is the most insufferable, out of date, fence sitting, boring know-it-all commentator in the game. So many free kicks for the Suns or no-call frees for the Kangas that were perplexing and barely a word out of him as the so called expert commentator. Rocket him 🚀 into the Sun please!!!

I drifted onto some socials, and even the Suns Supporters acknowledged how bad the umpiring was for their team to still not get the win after the Unpires did their best.

For the Kangas players the mental toll of these calls is super taxing when you can’t catch a break. Would love to know if the umpires watch tape on Monday with their coaches to assess their performance? I am convinced their coach would be like Healy and say they were fair.

Matt Rowell is a protected species. I have nothing against him, but he is umpired to different standards. Standards that reek of bias and unprofessionalism of the highest order.
Thanks for posting this, knew there was a bit of the commentary that had really grated.

Healy is an absolute biased tool. Big voice, say nothing w***er. Overqualified to run the AFL actually.

Montagna was jokingly referencing the poor umpiring but Geriatric Healy was still all aboard the suns express. Maybe he and Kevin Sheahan went to the Gold Coast rooms post match and provided a bit of groupie consolation.

Agree on Rowell. Seems a reasonable bloke and honest player but absolute protected species.

Reality is, it wasn't any one line that won the game for us. It was all three working together. The connection between the mids and the forwards in the second half was probably the best it's been in years. The backline held firm and created opportunities for rebound and transition. The midfield took risks, ran hard, and got the ball moving forward. And the forwards worked hard, created space, took marks, and kicked goals.

I loved the one where Rowell got spun around in the tackle, had the ball for about half an hour, then didn’t get the handball away. Ball ended up back in his hands and he snapped the goal.

Joey, rolls out: the Rowell “hand ball”.
Healy: you gotta play to the whistle.

Handful of weeks ago, Sunday game, GWS should have got a free, can’t remember who against. GWS all stopped thinking it was a free, the opposition ran off with it. Horrid no call by the umpires.

Healy went on about it for a good 20 mins. ‘They should feel hard done by, as it should of been a free kick’

Bloke is a total w**k. Makes watching the game with him commentating so hard.

I’ve see quite a few “Controversial Free Seals North Victory” type headlines today. Very few “Controversial Gold Coast Frees All Bloody Game Yet North Still Won!” headlines.
It wasn’t even controversial. Defender absolutely shit his dacks.

This was my sons 4th game he has attendedi beleive and he is now 5. I hope in years to come this is his first Football memory, becuase i sure wont forget this game ever!!

Feels amazing to create such nice memories for your kids doesn't it!

My 7 year old daughter comes with me to every game and has her own membership, but my 4 year old daughter is only starting to come to the odd game with me this year.

This weekend we took a big crew of friends to the game in a mates corporate box, and my 4 year old daughter was ecstatic when we won.

Hope this video works;
