Damo is waiting by his phone for Bard from * to call him for the big exclusive post sacking interview. It just pains him to see us get anything doesn’t it?

Game awareness should have knocked it through for a behindlove how our full forward captain preaches "play your role boys", but misses a goal from one meter out when the ball drop didn't connect with his foot!
I think the umpire didn’t see Larkey grab the ball.Incomming rule change
Damo is a campaigner. Absolute dog. And McClure is a hack journo.
As much as its funny that our boys stuffed it up, they did not hear the whistle.
The umpired called a free and play stopped. What happened after was not genuine advantage as both Nick and PC didnt have possession of the ****ing ball.

when tackled he didn’t handball properlyWhy did Rowell get a free at start of last quarter? Tackles LDU who handballs it instantly. And gets done for holding the .ball.
Just bizarre
It was nice to see blokes turning around from the row in front of us in bay 29 with smiles on their faces for once.I like meeting BF posters in person. People aren’t their personas.
Was just absolute dumb luck to get to share that win with Heaps of fun and Ischenko. The latter vocal about our ability to win even when I could not see how we could overcome their 23+5.
(I hope I got the right posters)
As soon as the umpire paid the free kick, the next few seconds were not advantageous to North.I think the umpire didn’t see Larkey grab the ball.
However, it was play on advantage all day and it was a shit go from the skipper being a selfish campaigner. Not Pc’s fault, he knew Larkey took advantage and tried to fix the mistake.
On a day full of umpiring howlers that didn’t go our way, it’s justification

...
It was the right call and in terms of the adjudication of it - Umpire 12 applied it correctly. About the only right call on the day.
100% it was pandemoniumThe ABC team said something along the lines of "the crowd's roar was immense, Larkey might not have heard the whistle, that is the correct decision".
But, but, "clubs" are fuming.....

Quite right:Sam Mclure, is a dick always putting North down and has come up with some bullshit to put a question mark on the win.
He should at least try to understand the rules, advantage is not taken until the umpire calls it.
He's a Carlton boy isn't he? I wonder if he's too young to remember 1995 and only remembers 1999.Sam Mclure, is a dick always putting North down and has come up with some bullshit to put a question mark on the win.

Thats just not how its paid/interpreted any longer. Its deemed if a player picks the ball up and tries to play on whether its advantageous or not, its paid advantage. Under the way its been called for about the last 5 years, Larkey played on and took advantage.the next few seconds were not advantageous to North.

Larkey didnt have clean possession of the footy and nor was he clear of his opponent.
The ball literally bounced towards the goal and by the time Larkey tried to soccer it through - he missed the footy and that was it. Advantage was not there.
What PC did after mattered not.

Other than picking it up and attempting a kick and fluffed it. Its advantage. Its not even debatableQuite right:
21.2 THE ADVANTAGE RULE
A field Umpire will call and signal ‘Advantage’ where a Team offended against demonstrates an intent to continue with play within a reasonable time.
For a long time after the infringement Larkey was merely running after the ball, which the umpire could not reasonably interpret any intention to continue play (or not).

Im not saying I agree with it. It should be if its not advantageous then it comes back. Like when a player took advantage, kicked a point it would come back. How the rule should be. The umpires had a howler and dimma is right, the laws of the game are cookedPeak AFL, lot of grey in 21.2
Yeah we got lucky. That and Larkey's handball, bloody hell he's blessed he didn't cost us.Im not saying I agree with it. It should be if its not advantageous then it comes back. He honestly needed a wake up call though. Was just so lazy at times getting to contests. That ****ing smile on Zurhaar's face when he's told he will play forward for the remainder of the game.![]()
OK.My 5c after watching it live at ground, in no particular order:
- Umpiring from the North perspective has clearly gotten worse this year IMO. Sydney and GC games in particular were outright contrived against us
- I don't care what negatives people want to come up with re Clarkson, Rawlings or the usual suspects such as Caleb Daniel et al, but if you can't clearly see the enormous growth, you need to take a break from footy as the 10 years of pain have ruined you
- The way we're running out games and are able to hit targets with risky kicks late in games is nothing short of phenomenal, given where we've come from. Our general skill level has improved out of sight, and the game plan is now clearly visible, win, lose or draw
- Yes, there are some weak links still in the side, but in general, we should win between 10 and 12 games given our draw, which will mean we could be in the fight for 10th spot deep into the season at the very least. Can't ask for too much more at this stage
