considering how bad the umpiring was, players probably had a right to assume it wasn't going to be paid a free.
by that point, even if he got punched in the face i still would have assumed the umpire wasn't going to pay it

If that’s the case, then, it’s clear that both Larkey and Curtis didn’t hear the whistle. There’s also an argument to suggest that JD’s shouting might have added to the ensuing mayhem, as both Nick and Paul would have been completely confused. Anyway, it’s irrelevant, isn’t it?

I watched the replay today and the umps did similar things repeatedly, even when we still had an advantage.
Everyone talking shit about that in the media is full of crap.
 
Anyone watch the Fremantle goal they received from an advantage? Freo had a free inside 50 near boundary play went on Dudley I think it was kicked it, umpire had arm in air ball landed top of goal square bounced sideways and went through the goals . Umpire then preceded to turns his hand and say advantage . If it had not gone through it would have been called back . At the end of the day it needs to advantage the team with the free .

The official ruling is that Souva had a Mulligan and PC had the equivalent of an Airball on the Basketball Court. Umpire made the correct call, Bull kicked the goal and gave us all an iconic photo and Shinboner that only Viagra could dream about. Case closed and enjoy the win for what it is.
 
I watched that last play on slow motion last night. The Curtis snap kick after Larkey aired it did go through for a point.

Think it was 18 seconds left. So had no advantage been paid you think we hold on.

There is no footage of it going through

But if "play on" were called the Suns defenders would have cleared the ball as play wouldnt have stopped

Just caught up and watched the second half - as others have said, even though I know what happens I’m watching and can’t believe we will win. Quite incredible effort and poise from so many players.

Watched it 3 times. Still expect us to lose. The one thing that has escaped criticism here is how crap the handball was from Larkey in the last minute. He hits Curtis on the chest and he has time to goal but instead he hits him under waist high from 10 metres. Had we have lost the game that would have been a major talking point. I still cannot believe we won. Feels so good still.

Yep was watching it live and my initial reaction was head in hands and muttering Larkey in frustration under my breath only to hear the crowd get up and about.

Still the same reaction when watching the replay. Even at that point I still can't believe we won. Im still in delirium as the thread title suggests.
