Now trade week is done with, time to work out who to delist.

31/10 – is List Lodgement 1.

So who we getting rid of? how may did we need to delist?

The only definite I see is Morton and perhaps Ladson wants out for more opportunities.

Who else?

Re: Now onto the delistings

Morton, Bruce and Bateman

I still haven't forgiven Bateman for his performance in the prelim although I'm sure it will come with time. Surely time is running out for Duryea and Williams as well?

i was thinking one of these may go, can't recall ever seeing do much for Box Hill, though im dont see them every week,

anyone got any thought on these two, it seems someone like Wanganeen has shown more then these two.

Re: Now onto the delistings

Bruce, Ladson and one of Duryea/Williams/Morton.

I imagine there will be a number of rucks delisted at clubs or available, so wouldn't object to cutting PJ, but letting him and a few other rucks spend the summer at the club and give the best one a one year rookie contract.

Re: Now onto the delistings

Bateman still has a spot on the list, long as the sub rule is in place, still has handy pace to come on late and make and impact.

Jarryd Morton
Rick Ladson
Taylor Duryea

My thinking is that trading Renouf means PJ has a guaranteed spot next year.

Re: Now onto the delistings

At a guess I would go Williams, Ladson, Morton.

PJ stays for mine. Bateman & Bruce one more year tops.
Duryea one more to prove he deserves a spot.

PJ ain't going anywhere me thinks.

If Hale or Max go down, he is next in line it seems, they gave him a game against GC this year and he played pretty well, and seemed very popular with the other players.

Lowden and Grimley seems to be always injured so we need some insurance.

Re: Now onto the delistings

Heard we are looking for 3 live picks (outside of Bruest being upgraded from the Rookie list)
Ins: Gunston & Boumann
Outs: Renouf & Lisle
Delist: Ladson, Morton and Williams

Worry about the rookies later.

You can't worry about the rookies later. They also have to be cut by the final list lodgement so they can nominate for the National Draft, same as a main listed player.

Reckon we'll use picks 33, 38 and 53 and then pick 82 for Breust.

Nothing of value after 53 anyway. So 4 delistings for the main list and 1 for the rookie list.

Re: Now onto the delistings

In: Gunston Boumann Breust (Rookie Upgrade)
Outs: Renouf Lisle Sierakowski (Traded) Ladson Morton Williams Duryea Milne (Rookie)

Assuming those players get delisted we have 3 Live picks in the National Draft & 3 picks in the Rookie Draft.

Does anybody know if we are allowed to pick up a player in march like we did with Paul Johnson? Or have they changed that rule?

Re: Now onto the delistings

Based on BigFooty postings:

1. Tom Murphy
2. Ryan Shoenmakers
3. Xavier Ellis
4. Chance Bateman

Am I doing it right?

;)

Re: Now onto the delistings

Gee if Batemen is going to be delisted for running and running to the end of deliveries (but shancking the kicks) what happens to the guys who were too stuffed to run ?

Hanging ?

Re: Now onto the delistings

I know Laddo's name has been plastered all over the news about leaving lately, but I will be seriously angry if Laddo is delisted and Cam Bruce stays on.

Not because I dislike Bruce, but because Laddo has just as much to offer if not more and has been at our club for a far greater period, is a Premiership player etc etc. Laddo turns 28 in Feb, Bruce is already 32.

For me the two standout delistings should be Morton and Bruce. I have no idea who the third one could possibly be.

Outs: Renouf Lisle Sierakowski (Traded) Ladson Morton Williams Duryea Milne (Rookie)

I am unsure with the Pre Season Draft

.. but I wouldn't be casually dismissing Milne .. I feel he has alot to offer as a key defender - great hands and ball use good.

Maybe Breust and Milne are in line for upgrade ?

Re: Now onto the delistings

Can we still upgrade Riley Milne or not,if so.
1.Jarryd Morton
2.Jordan Willams
3.Rick Ladson
4.Cameron Bruce
5.Chance Bateman
These are the 5 players that it is out of in my mind.

Re: Now onto the delistings

My guess is:

Jordan Williams - Has been at Hawthorn for two years, but he hasn't made much ground.

Taylor Duryea - Also been here for two years, looked great when he got picked up, I still believe he has potential but not at Hawthorn.

Riley Milne** - Hasn't really found his feet at Hawthorn, been here for two years also.

Jarryd Morton - Been around for 4 years, played pretty good for one year but hasn't held onto the form, may still have a career to come but not at Hawthorn.

Maybe:
Rick Ladson?? - I would love Laddo to ask GWS to take him as an uncontracted player, so they can't take anyone next year from Hawthorn.

Chance Bateman - his loyalty will pay him another year.

Cameron Bruce: Still signed for one more year.

Paul Johnson: I do not want to see him go, unless we can have Wayde Skipper back! =D

I think the sub rule helps increase Bateman's value, however with the opposite logic. Bateman can run all day, with only 3 rotations this is a huge value. I have not seen him 'impact' as a sub however, I would have thought his value is playing the first three quarters. I don't think he adds value coming on for the last qtr or earlier if injury.

If Bateman can regain full fitness, he can at least provide depth on the wings - something that seems to be lacking.

As someone else already posted, the fact he ran himself into the ground against the Pies contributed to some fumbles and poor disposal. You can't blame someone for giving it their all.

Ladson still has value, and could surprise if he gets himself fitter (drops 5kg). The leadership he provides at Box Hill is priceless and he can step up to AFL level with ease when required.

Re: Now onto the delistings

Certainties to be delisted.

J.Morton
J.Williams

Possible

T.Duryea
R.Ladson
C.Bruce

I think that if Laddo decides that his future lies with GWS, then I am happy for him to leave. However if he wants another year on our list, I am also happy for us to give him another year. Same goes for Bruce.

We can’t just get rid of all our experienced depth.

From what I've seen of Milne, he isn't a key defender (way too skinny).

He's a taller, thinner, less talented Ellis clone.

HBF or maybe wing is his go.

From what I've seen he's no loss if he goes. Need to keep turning over the rookies.

Re: Now onto the delistings

We have, for some reason, tried to turn Milne into a winger/HBF - we have loads of those. He has to be delisted or upgraded (can be re-rookied in the rookie draft) - I can't see us upgrading him. Bruest will be upgraded, and we'll use 33 and 38.

Ladson and Morton will go, probably Williams too, and one other. I don't think Bruce played enough games to activate his second year, I would not be surprised if he goes.
