You must have a lot of spare time to waste reading the drivel on the Collingwood board. Let's hope that the brains-trust at Eddyland concur with the thoughts and analysis of our Mr Tas.

Ah well... Anyway for the record this is what I had to say over on Moron Central.Originally posted by rchowell
I want to preface my post with a couple of things. One - I was directed to this thread from the Brisbane board (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=101724&goto=nextnewest). Two - I think Brisbane are going to really struggle this year. Everybody forgets that they were 6th with just a couple of rounds to go last year, and it's not going to be any easier this year. By the same token, I think Collingwood will go well. Everybody forgets that they were favourites going into the Grand Final - which implies they were doing something right. The Grand Final was one bad day after a number of good ones throughout the season. Sure, the wrong day to have a bad game but in March 2004 it's hardly anything to be slitting wrists over. Indeed, it wasn't the first time Collingwood was well beaten last year.
Having said all that I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to see what a load of rubbish your "Boring as hell to watch but very effective" really is. I don't know what team you have been watching the last 3 years. Maybe you prefer rugby league. What is more astonishing is that such a comment comes from a Collingwood supporter! Somebody who barracks for one of the most boring teams in the competition playing under King Of The Boring himself Mick Malthouse. Collingwood may very well win the premiership this year, but there is little doubt it will be a lot less entertaining than the last 3.

Did you happen to notice "tas" is a north melbourne supporter, you must be aware that other supporters visit opposition boards![]()
No I didn't notice Tas was a Rooboy, thankyou for pointing that out though. I am aware that other supporters visit club boards, but I did check Tas's profile and it didn't say which team he barracked for, so I just assumed he was a Collingwood supporter. An understandable mistake you'd agree.Originally posted by PieGal

Okay, I updated my profile to avoid further confusion.
Not sure what is more insulting, being called deluded or being called a Collingwood supporter.
A large part of that post I was referring to was complementing what is a very good and effective defense.
Brisbane has great players but I do not think they are unbeatable. As to boring, well, its alot easier to judge what is boring and what isn't when you are watching two teams you do not follow and do not really care what the result is.
Brisbane plays a style of game they feel they need to in order to win against good quality sides, as a spectacle I find it a tad dull and hated when Pagan did the same thing with his paddock which was just a defense/midfield congestion and flood.
I do not think I said that it was not effective. Boring and effective are very different.
I do think we used to play a very exciting style of football then Pagan resorted to a sterile gameplan and I almost lost interest in football for a while.
I am much happier seeing this current team play than even the last premiership team who didn't look like kicking a winning score all year and just choked the opposition to submission throughout the whole year.
Football should be entertaining to watch. Brisbane are good to watch against lesser teams because they do not flood and that is when they play their best football.
But, that is just my opinion. I don't claim it to be right or wrong, just how I feel.

I have a video of the 2002 Grand Final that begs to differ. I can make a copy for you if you like! Actions speak louder than words.Originally posted by leonmagic
Leon Davis as a footballer - he is a very talented player who isn't playing up to his level, and he is certainly not soft or weak so i suggest you find a new insult.
