With all respect I don't think you need to have played football to know the difference. That wasn't really my point - if you're focussed on the ball the way he was it's not always that easy just to pull out, though of course it happens. You are expecting Fev to know the difference between attacking the ball when it is not in the team's best interests and attacking the ball when it is. A big ask.

I guess I just considered you spoilt given what we have to put up with. I would love for Barry Hall's main crime to be wanting the ball enough to crash through teammates to get it.

Other people manage it just fine.
Fev's just not used to having to play as part of a structure, or one that doesn't revolve completely around him.

Fev can still run at the contest, and still fly for the mark.

The "pulling out" bit is realising as you go up that your teamate has the ball covered and you don't drive your knee into his kidneys trying to use him as a step ladder.

Fev knew he was there. You'd have to be Kosi to not know. Fev has shown over the years he has very good awareness of where he is and where opponents and teamates are. He was just trying to be a hero, take a big speccy and kick a goal. Instead, he spoiled the mark and took out our best forward to that point in the game.

Fair enough, you make a mistake. Then butter up and work your ass off to make up for it..............Fev went the other way. That's why he should be dropped.

The finger surgery has come at a good time for Ratts. Gives him an easy out. The bigger test will be if he drops Stevens.

Bring in Hartlett or Cloke, and Hadley. Tell them they are playing for another contract. See what happnes. At least they will give 100%, which can't be much worse than what Fev dished up Friday, and given his record, is likely to dish up vs Freo this week.

We cant bring back cloke - watched him a couple of weeks back and was like watching Deluca.

With the midfield you blokes have got and the crumming talent in Betts and Yarran youd almost be worth dropping Fev and picking up a few just decent talls. Im just speaking from WC experience with the talent our midfield had we were able to stock our forward line with a bloke off the rookie list in Lynch (who was 50/50 infront of goals) and a half decent CHF in Hansen who was pick 35ish.

We also had a couple of resting ruckman, Seaby wasent too bad and Cox helped out.

As long as your 2x tall forwards can kick 60-70 goals between them and contest the footy when its in the air the midfielders and crummers will be able to get you over the line with goals.

At the very least he should be made to realize that his position is not critical for team success with a week on the sidelines v Fremantle (a game you will win - they dont have Pav)

You have summarized your team's forward strategy well - one that does not necessarily please your forwards, from what I hear
