I was on the 2nd Crota run, got shards to finally hit 31 from the bridge section and then Blackhammer from Crota.

You'll get it boys, don't stress. Just be patient and keep working at it. The first time we got Crota's shield down we struggled to hit him once; we're now consistently getting him at least 3-4 times and occasionally getting as many as eight hits in one sword drop. It's just about getting your rhythm and finding a system that works for you. The timing for taking Crota down before enrage is really tight, so you're not going to be able to do it until everybody's comfortable and you've had quite a bit of practice. Stick with the same roles/ideas unless you're positive they're not going to work - don't go switching things around too often or you'll get nowhere fast. Just keep chipping away.

And Bungie rolled back the changes it made in the previous patch to Pocket Infinity, an exotic fusion rifle. However, the new update may reintroduce a "previously known issue" that prevents the gun from charging up, according to Bungie.
