Your post is nonsense thoughIt's a fact.
Both Ryder and Carlisle were worth more than we bled to lose them, but we have to take our medicine because of the moronic player movement system.Worth a lot more than Dons second rounder.
Check out the Treloar trade. Both Ryder and Carlisle were worth more than we bled to lose them, but we have to take our medicine because of the moronic player movement system.
Now you do too sadly. I'd love to see the club be given more power.
Believe me
Darcy Parish is no Gibbs/Murphy
Hard as a cats head
Seriously think if GWS play hardball Essendon could offer their 2018 first and back it in to be 15+. Stringer, Saad, Smith, another year into Merrett/Daniher/Fantasia/McKenna/McGrath/Parish...
They'd back themselves to be top 4. Worth the risk. Especially if they get away with Francis for Stringer, keeping pick 11.
imo there is 0% chance that Adrian would even give a scintilla's thought to trading next years 1st.
Hope i'm wrong, but i aint.
GWS might have to throw in something in return.
I was more raising it as a reasonable risk for Essendon to take. Adding the 3 S's makes their list a lot stronger.
I reckon it's a perfect solution. We could ship our second rounder next year to GC.What do Essendon fans think of trading picks 11 & 28 for BL picks 18 & 19? Assuming pick 19 is what we get for Rocky compensation.
Then use picks 18 and 19 for Stringer & Smith.
I think we could work Tippa into a trade.
think we could work Tippa into a trade.
A number of non-Bomber commentators are saying a pick in the low to mid 20s would be sufficient. We got 28 for Hibberd. 11 for Smith is a complete piss take
Havent read anybody post this, a few including myself have said Smith and 23 for 11, depends a bit on what you want to pay for other trades.
I agree that no GWS fan would be suggesting pick #11 alone for Dev, but certainly suggesting that he's a late first round pick (pick #20 and some late pick swaps probably the least GWS fans would see as reasonable). Without any major academy draftees this year & rule changes anyway, multiple late picks don't provide the trade currency for GWS as they did in previous years. Looking at it from Bombers fans perspective (as best I can), the problem is getting the trade done for all 3 players. I don't think Saad should be too difficult, although I haven't checked that thread or the Suns' board specifically. The Stringer trade and the significant disagreement on value is the big point of friction. I'm not sure whether Dodoro might look to get an easier trade done first, then argue the more difficult - which I'd see as Smith then Stringer, or whether Stringer is the No. 1 target and therefore everything rests on that. Thoughts, Bombers fans?
So, the #11 for Richmond's two picks (though they'd want something else) or Brisbane's #18 & #19 (once Rockliff FA compo comes in) is probably reasonable, but does rely on needing to do that trade separately. But Brisbane might need #18 for Carlie Cameron. Therefore neither trade may be viable. So the #11 for Dev & one of our second round picks back equates to valuing (on points alone) Dev somewhere in the back half of the second round - which would be unders, except it provides value by giving GWS #11. Probably Bombers fans wouldn't be happy entirely, but I do think it's inescapable that pick #11 has to be used in one form or another for Stringer & Smith. The question would be whether doing that trade for Smith first, and potentially backing Bulldogs management into a corner on available trade currency for Stringer, has merit with Essendon management.
I think that Essendon may have a troublesome time in working all this to a satisfactory outcome, and more so if reputation for prickly dealings becomes fact. It could be a fascinating trade period if you don't have too much skin in the game!
