Did GWS do the right thing Passing Wingard over?

Theres a direct interview that aired recently, informing how Wingard told GWS that he didn't like the idea of building a club instead wished to go to an established club with where culture has already been generated. He also mentioned how he would potentially want to leave GWS as soon as his contract had concluded.

GWS hs done us many favors so far!
Handing us Wingard was excellent.
But an underrated gift so far is Hombsch and added Neade as steak knives for pick 10000000

Hombsch is fast becoming an ultra solid, excellent disposal big backman. Everything we wanted chaplin to be but never got near to....
