So I guess this means another 3-4 weeks out?

Interesting that both Heater and Dids have struggled with injury early in the year after reportedly having huge pre-seasons.

According to Collingwood, and Nick Maxwell in particular, Dids trained before the main session today, before joining his team mates at the start of regular training.

Channel 9 is always very "sensational" with it's reports, and the truth in this matter is we wont know if Didak will come up until after the Thursday morning training session.

He hasnt strained or pulled anything according to the club, he had soreness in his calf after the Brisbane game, and they are treating him lightly until a final fitness test this Thursday.

He is doubtful, but at least we get Shaw and Maxwell back, so if Dids isnt 100%, save him for the StKilda game, we will need him more for that anyway.

SEN had a feature on hamstring injuries last week. The experts were talking about Cousins, and said that when you haven't been playing for a while, you're more prone to hamstring injury as you step up to the speed of the game.

I thought about Shaw, and now with Didak it seems we're still paying for last year's transgressions.:(

He trained this morning and broke down with a hamstring strain
2 to 3 weeks
Appears to be a new injury

What more can I say, oh yeah, Tony Jones was the reporter it was on the sport section of the news and Channel 9 are currently showing A Current Affair

thats its I've had Henstecel, Raines, Harvey, Hille and now dids all in my supercoach team and they have all been struck down with injuries. I am the kiss of death I'm trading all my collingwood plyers out and replacing them with geelong, st kilda and carlton players. Geelong and St.Kilda because they are good teams and Carlton because I hate them might get zacharias in to revenge will be sweet.

Key trio set for recall

Collingwood's Alan Didak will need to get through training on Thursday before he is selected to play

COLLINGWOOD could welcome back three key players for its clash with North Melbourne at Docklands on Friday night.
Half-forward Alan Didak (calf) and utility Heath Shaw (hamstring) trained on Tuesday morning but will need to get through Thursday's session before being selected.
Captain Nick Maxwell is also set to resume after serving a two-week suspension for rough conduct.
Didak, a late withdrawal from the side that lost to Essendon on Anzac Day, was monitored by fitness staff as he did some run-throughs at Gosch's Paddock before his teammates joined him.
He appeared to move freely but Maxwell confirmed the left-footer still had at least one box to tick before earning a recall.
"Dids has got to get through training on Thursday … [he] did a smaller session but didn’t do the full session," he said from the Lexus Centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Shaw has missed two matches after injuring his right hamstring against Geelong in round three.
"He’s got to get through training, but he’d be more chance of playing than not playing," Maxwell said.
Another welcome addition to the Magpies' backline, Maxwell said his own fortnight on the outer had been tough.
"Being captain, it's hard sitting on the sidelines, particularly when it’s your own fault," he said.
"Friday night can’t come quick enough."
Maxwell added that the side was also looking for a boost from Travis Cloke and acknowledged the challenges of a key forward post for a younger player.
He backed the 22-year-old to regain his best form.
"Obviously he’s not going as well as he ever has gone," Maxwell said.
"He has to sort of lift his game a little bit but he’s working on that.
"He couldn’t be working any harder. He’s working hard in games and it’ll turn for him.

Is this a injury from the Melbourne game we he got a 'corkie' on the right buttock/hamstring. Corks are never as bad until after you have cooled down and obviously him playing against Brisbane meant he wasn't right and it was still tight. I'm not worried if its only from that original corkie, but who know if it is!

Bit concerned as the club has not stated anything other than he needs to get through training Thursday.

This can be taken as..

a positive: "he's right just a precaution":)

a negative: "no chance but lets keep it close to our chest as long as possible"

it could also be taken as: "see if he gets through training Thursday"

lets hope its the first one

I don't know if this helps but I'm sure that Channel 9 made mention of it happening in a closed training session? Do they do any training indoors after the main training session where he could have injured it?

Talk to me about it. I have gone from Ottens to Leuy then traded back up to Hille. Don't mention the rest, Harvey, Hentschel, and several others.

I find it hard to believe after the reports on the AFL website.

Didnt Maxy say that he got through training and would play if he got through on thursday?

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to believe any of the injury-related information that comes out of the club.

Last Friday they assured us that Didak would certainly play, but clearly that was nonsense.

I realise that they are under no obligation to be totally or even partially transparent with it's supporters, but as a passionate Pies man and Supercoach/Dreamteam participant, it's extremely frustrating to be told one thing... or in the case of a Sean Rusling not told anything, and find the reality to be another.

Now I just take every item of injury news from Collingwood with a large amount of salt.

Didak has a hamstring - 2 weeks.

Agree about the club stating "No doubt over Didak" on their own website. Actually said to a few friends that it was pretty bold of them to post especially if he wasn't to play - well we know he didn't.

I would prefer the club website not speculate on its own players. The website loses credibility with its members when it posts such headlines. Leave that to the HSun and The Age.

Treat true supporters with some respect please.

I use this site for all my injury updates http://www.injuryupdate.com.au/afl.php, mainly for my DT/SC teams, but looking at it just then, seems that Didak is the only player listed as "diagnosis unknown".

Great to see Collingwood values its' supporters so well that it wont even release the most basic of information on players injury concerns.

I'm going to go to training tomorrow, with no real expectation of seeing Didak at all.
