Didak in talks with McGuire

For all the Didak fans, Didak will be staying. Got the inside goss from a secret source just yesterday. Hopefully he can keep himself away from the piss and have a long and successful career with you guys. :D:thumbsu:

The issue wasn't so much the drinking as lying to the players, leadership group, and club administration to save his own arse.

It is easy to be contrite and make false promises after you are caught, but Didak showed a real lack of character and spine not informing the club straight away. Again.

Club will not shoot themselves in the foot by off loading him for less than he is worth... but given the right offer Eddie will drop him like a hot potato.

So you want Heath out too?

Is it what! ;)

Spot on, just trying to add a bit of spice to my comment, bit boring otherwise. :p

I think Heath has learned his lesson, so I wouldn't want the club to trade him.

Not much worse you can do at a footy club than lie to the police then attempt to cover it up by lying to players, leadership group, club adminstration and board members.

Footy clubs are built on trust and making fools of the club captain, CEO and president whilst defending your character to the media is unforgivable.

I'd suggest a repeat of this sort of incident would result in him being permanently dumped from the team and moved on at the earliest convenience.

But Heath not only lied to the above people he mentioned he also lied to us, the supporters and general public.

Not much worse you can do that betray your mates and get them in trouble.

I don't want either to be traded but I don't think it's fair to argue that one should be traded and one should get to stay. FFS Heath was caught driving three times over the legal limit, I would say that shows a real lack of character too.

For the record I want them both there in 09 and beyond... playing on Saturday would be good too.

Completely agree.

Didak was on his last chance, this is the difference. Twice in two years he has deceived the club about drunken incidents involving the police. Selfish dishonesty is something that cannot be tolerated at a footy club.

I'd guarantee Heath is on his last chance now too.

What's with all this "last chance" bullshit.
Each case should be assesed on it's merits and an appropriate sanction put in place.
Didak has done wrong and has paid a price far and beyond what he should have considering that no laws were broken and the only moral breach was beetween himself and the club.

Collingwood should well and truly learn from this experience and never make a close ended statement again.
No definite suspensions which may adversely affect the team and no public "last chance" ultimatums handed out which may put our backs to the wall when assesing the future of an important player in our team.

Likka points out that Didak should be traded for Kerr.
A player who has been convicted for violent crimes.
A player who has a dark shadow hanging over him in regards to drugs.
Stealing a prescription pad from your club doctor to acquire valium 'aint exactly honest, is it?
A player who has pushed the captain of his club down the stairs.
If you think that with all that and more going on that kerr has been nothing but totally upfront with his club then you're deluded.

And to then suggest that on top of Didak we also give them our 1st round draft pick in an extremely important draft for all clubs is laughable.

Win/Win my arse.

If we traded for Kerr with Didak and our first round I would be fuming.

Didak has as much worth as Kerr and to give away our first round too, epic fail.

Re: Didak's plea to pies

Blah, blah, blah... Didak crying wolf again.

Don't need the dishonest likes of him around the club.

Trade Didak and our first round pick for Kerr. Both sides win.

Yeh swap him for a known drug taker. Your a twit.:o

Re: Didak's plea to pies

Collingwood should have learnt from the Darren Millane episode. This loose cannon should be shipped back to Port Adelaide as a matter of urgency.

They didnt learn the first time, what makes you think they will learn now, DM RIP

Didak wasnt drink driving. You saying Millane would be alive today if we just threw him out on the street?

Who are you to say what number chance these guys are on? What gives you the right to keep count?

Re: Didak's plea to pies

LOL I did a bit of research.
Dave The Man - 3751 posts and 533 threads started. 1 new thread every 9 posts.
I used Optimax as a comparison as he is a regular poster.
Optimax has 6524 posts and 72 threads started. 1 new thread every 90 posts. Interesting. Or is it?

... and there are 8 post's in each of his threads.

Just kidding Dave.;)

Can I ask a question to you Dave and this isn't to shit stir? I am perplexed at your selection criteria of the use of upper case letters in your sentences. What is your methodology? I can't work it out.

Completely agree..
Didak's a knob but that's all he is --> Kerr's a suspected criminal and a suspected drug taker..
You can't be forced out of the game by the AFL for being stupid but you can be for being caught on drugs and it's pretty hard to play AFL from a jail cell..

If the club have decided that Didak has had one chance too many and he must be shipped out then fair enough IF WE CAN GET WHAT HE'S WORTH..
This is the last uncompromised draft for quite a few years and to ship out your no1 pick to get rid of a trouble maker in an attempt to get an even bigger trouble maker is laughable..

Didak is a club best and fairest, an all australian and would have repeated both of those feats this year if he played it out..If we can get someone who can do that next year (which Kerr probably can for that matter) but won't screw it all up (which Kerr will) then go for him). IMO this was Didak's best season playing wise, it certainly hasn't been Kerr's.

I say keep Didak and get Cousins and if we're gonna trade for anyone get Rutten like was rumoured with Wakes and Presti on their last legs - Won't cost as much and won't embarass the club.

For anyone who needs reminding on how good Didak has been for Collingwood, only needs to look at this fantastic video clip on You Tube highlighting his extraordinary talent and freaky skills:

Then you'll remember why so many fans want him back in the Black & White in 2009 !

Neither Shaw nor Didak lied to police.

I have no doubt how good Didak is and will be in years to come, I just do not understand what it takes for a well paid person to begin to use his brain.
To lie to your capt and team mates the way they did is the way my 3 year old lies to me.

To play AFL is a honor and to play for this club would be something millions have wished for and never had the chance, so why does a person who is well paid and looked after continue to do stupid things. It shows that he is either brainless or he thinks he is above the club.

I hope he is traded but he won't be as the price he is valued at won't be paid, and I just hope that is the next two years he stays out of trouble so we are not forced to sack him and get nothing.

Hope Eddie puts restrictions back into his contract

this will sum up what you're all saying:

those that want to keep Didak think he's a fool but still a player that we need

those that want to get rid of him, hate him for being a fool, drunk, liar etc...

those that want kerr are the same people that don't want didak

those that dont wan't kerr are the same people that want didak

can we end the thread now??
