That is correcf,2008 Mitcham had 2 junior teams,1 team a combined team with GWH.Cricket team the same, both clubs have re built since then especially on the junior front.Don't think they had much a junior club 10 years which probably goes along way to explaining it.
Yes they are done. With only 6 days to go to the start of the season for Div 1 you would think itās now too late for Doncaster to drop down to another division.
Care to elaborate?Yes they are done.
Bit of a story to it & it will drop in due course.

No I donāt, certainly not before any releases. Letās see what they say, although I imagine they will be generic.Care to elaborate?
Good reply bobby all ill add boronia have an xtra week to prepare a bye in div 1No I donāt, certainly not before any releases. Letās see what they say, although I imagine they will be generic.
Doncaster will bounce back; many other clubs have been in the same position, dropped down, and jumped back. They might not be the same dominant club, but they will return sooner rather than later.Itās a shame club so close in Doncaster and Nunawading both fall over (in menās football)
Surely between both they could have sorted a joint side
Footy starts this Saturday, how on earth has no one made a decision yet?Good reply bobby all ill add boronia have an xtra week to prepare a bye in div 1
They had to make a call before the Silvan Coldstream game. Has to be a bye in Div 1 now if they fold.Footy starts this Saturday, how on earth has no one made a decision yet?
Clearly it's a range of issues, but the demographic of population is a huge factor given the large number of clubs in the catchment area.Well at least weāve moved on from the immigrants ending football in the east forever.
Now itās their mums, their bosses and other sports!
Are they dropping down or going into recess?Doncaster will bounce back; many other clubs have been in the same position, dropped down, and jumped back. They might not be the same dominant club, but they will return sooner rather than later.
Or the other option is they only field a Senior squad. Either way, someone should be making the call. They had to make a call before the Silvan Coldstream game. Has to be a bye in Div 1 now if they fold.
RecessAre they dropping down or going into recess?
If going into recess itās a long way back to find 60 players from scratch when you couldnāt in a regular off season
Does recess mean they finish bottom and drop a division as they are deemed to finish last?Recess
Folded bud once announced more will be revealedDoes recess mean they finish bottom and drop a division as they are deemed to finish last?
Didn't Donvale go into recess as a Div2 club and re-enter a year later in Div4? Rules may have changedDoes recess mean they finish bottom and drop a division as they are deemed to finish last?
Correct if the club gets up again will be in div 4Didn't Donvale go into recess as a Div2 club and re-enter a year later in Div4? Rules may have changed
why bring it up in the first place if you don't want to talk about it? Not just you but a lot of people insinuating there's bigger stories to everything. If you're not willing to share the full story, why say anything and create opportunities for other thoughts/rumours to be made.No I donāt, certainly not before any releases. probably because Bobby knows enough to shut down the confusion around whether Doncaster will be fielding teams in any division. speculation on cause will continuewhy bring it up in the first place if you don't want to talk about it? On another note the u19s fixture for div1 is an absolute mess. Teams playing each other 4 times and some back to back games. Nth Ringwood v Beacy in rd1 and 2
Donvale went into Recess in 2014 but if they were to come back into the league it would be by 4th Division.Didn't Donvale go into recess as a Div2 club and re-enter a year later in Div4? Rules may have changed
yeah, no criticism of Donvale here - just making the point that a club coming out of recess hasn't just dropped a single division when coming back in. I expect it's all open to negotiationDonvale went into Recess in 2014 but if they were to come back into the league it would be by 4th Division.
Donvale still had about 30-35 guys at the time they called it. But most of them were under 19 premiership players from the year before, and of that I think 6 were VFL listed so couldn't be relied on. They merged with Whitefriars to keep the club alive. During the year a subcommittee was formed and it got the house in order.
All they had to do was recruit an extra 30 players and keep filtering their juniors through. 10 years on have a look at what they've achieved. 4 GF appearances. 2 flags and if you look at the team 90% is Donvale Juniors
