long trip for some teams to get too. I would be surprised though that they would recruit well though. Although they are strong during the school period, most take off to uni etc and would be enticed to other clubs or go bush looking for some $$. Would be tough to keep a group together, train and play in Kilmore as its not the warmest place in Vic.

Dissapointed in the result Saturday, but proud of the improvement made in 2010.
September 2011 is a long way away, and will have to improve again to even be a threat.

Couldn't agree more with this. The only person who I heard talking about a premiership was from someone at Mt Lilydale, talking to me. Hardly going about spruiking ourselves.

2011 will require an improvement, as has each year over the past 5 years. Our competition continues to improve each year - it is testament to our division that the teams going up each year continue to do well in D3 the following year - well in most cases anyway.

Sorry boys but there was definately manningham supporters sprouting about how they were certainties to win the flag next season. Really interesting insite into the clubs mentality I thought. While you both might not have heard it, it's pretty difficult to claim you heard every word spoken by your supporters/ reserve's players on the day. Quite funny really as i'm sure there were Richmond people thinking the same thing last season.

All I can really say to that is that no club has a monopoly on idiots. I can guarantee that the committee of the club wouldn't endorse any of that.

The funny part of this is that I can just imagine who it may have been. And if I'm right - the first comment stands!

The playing group certainly wouldn’t endorse those kind of comments either. Especially after having worked their backsides off all year, but falling short and failing to make the GF after several cracks at knocking off MTL. No doubt D4 will improve again next season, and there will be plenty of good sides that the Cobras will have to deal with.

Comments like that from supporters (if its true) are just ridiculous.

One bonus is that the Cobras and MTL don’t have to play each other again for a while. 3 times in 5 weeks is enough!

if this DOES come to fruition, i wonder if ray carroll, the legendary coach of the all-conquering assumption college first xviii teams, will be in charge.

as far as im aware, hes STILL there producing afl superstars at the "football factory" & hes well into his 70s!!

South Mornington the early favourites for me. Have bee there about the last few seasons and on a steady improve.

Teams coming down will need to improve greatly to even make the finals

They are debating a return to regionalized lower divisions like they had 10 yes ago which assisted in the rise of several clubs not the least my own- but I am pretty sure that will not be until 2012- also looks like bentleigh are gone so kew or manningham will prob go up as they will want to avoid byes in two grades- rumors of one new team and one team from another comp are doing the rounds but they do every year - this is the third year the assumption one has .

clubs like Ormond, Parkdale, South Melb Dist, Bentleigh, Prahran & South Mornington have all been mentioned heading south. as i stated in the d3 thread a couple of those clubs have it in there constitution that they dont pay players so may not happen but on the other hand a club like bentleigh came across because they have no money, could be cashed up and ready to go.

not to rubbish d4 but a match up between these 2 teams could be avoided a side that missed promotion by a couple of kicks v a side that only won a couple of games, could be a little too one sided for my liking
