Good article. It waffled on a bit towards the end though.

Basically it says Nathan is a humbler football version of Happy Gilmore trying to win the house for his ma :)

Guess that makes bomber chubbs, but who is shooter McGavin?

I could see Akermanis being a shooter McGavin.

On that note, the MCG isn't going to collapse on Grand Final day is it? or is there still scaffolding around that fans will attempt to climb to get the best view?

Top Read. I think he nailed the Ablett "thing" pretty well. I like this bit..

After a while, a son stands or fall on his own legs anyway, not props himself up on his father's. Gary jnr is now a favourite at Geelong, but is a different player to his father, more like Garry Hocking than Gary Ablett.

Nathan's course is still be being charted. He was nominated for the Rising Star award this week, but refused all interviews. Family policy, really. Geelong fans will not care as much as we do; what could a painfully shy and inarticulate 19-year-old add to the discourse anyway?
Some critics from the media compalin when things arnt the way they want them or what they think is right and what they think is right usually gos hand in hand off whats good for them.
Not every kid is good in front of a camera, most kids dont want to do what they arnt half decent at. Let him be himself.

The way he ran, kicked, marked, moved: he was more like his father than his brother, but even more like Barry Stoneham, another of the much-loved. And he wore Doug Wade's guernsey. They do like their aesthetic bloodlines at Geelong.
Is this such a bad thing to match a player of a certain type with number thats had success with a player of similar type. 23 looks good in the goal square if you ask me!
