If we take Dustin Martin with Pick 2..

Now that any knocks on his pace have been erased.

I dont see a flaw in his game.

Has 'Skully like' evasiveness and looks more versatile
than Trengove - and we all know Bailey loves a versatile
player, shout out to Stephen Martin.

There are quite a few quality mids at the top of this years draft.

I'm still on the Trengove bandwagon, Scully & Trengove would compliment each other very well.

I would love to know what BP and the boys are thinking, but i know the AFL will not be impressed if we give away who we are going to pick.

For me, I haven't changed my thinking since July - Scully & Trengove!

Martin probably has had a knock on his pace because he never seems to make use of it in a match situation. I don't think a good 20m sprint time will have a great impact on the club's decision in any case.

Admittedly I've only seen him a few times, but he has looked kind of one-paced to me, and he seems to make some interesting decisions as well.

He has amazing skills on both sides of his body though, so I wouldn't discount him completely.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we selected him, but I would definitely prefer Trengove.

Personally i think Trengove is a more versatile player has been shown to be able to rest forward and provide a target and kick goals.

True. This from Brenton Phillips (talent manager):

''Jack can play anywhere on the ground. I've played him down back and he's done that with great success. We know he can go through the midfield and be a dominant player and he can also go forward and take a strong overhead mark," Phillips said.

Not only will I be surprised I'll be flabbergasted.

Whilst a good player he's not at the level of Scully or Trengove. Supporters get carried away by camp results. He's just not as good a "footballer" as the other two. He might be a better kick, but is the inferior player.

Probably the final piece to the pick 2 puzzle could be played out in the SANFL Grand Final,if Jack Trengove plays a blinder in that game, surely that would confirm us taking him!

I can say unequivocally that we will not get Martin. It will be Trengove or Morabito.

Straight line speed is the most irrelevant asset for a footballer. With the game based on contested possessions and zone defences, how often does a midfielder have the chance to run off his opponent?

IMO, the most useful part of the draft camp is the new kicking efficiency test.

We wont take Morabito, I wouldnt mind if we did - but we
wont, Bailey mentioned last year about building a group of
great ball users and sadly Morabito doesnt fit in that bracket.

On top of that, he is a WA lad and the go home factor would
sway us against taking him over Skully - who you would think
was a dead set moral to be in the Red and Blue next year.

I really reckon Martin will firm as a no 2 pick and I reckon come
draft day - it will be a tough choice to split him and Trengove.

Trengove and Scully no doubt.

I'll take Trengove's football form over Martin's draft camp results any day of the week.
Agree with that. Trengove looks the goods, the type of player every team needs.

Melbourne still seem unsure on #2. I really hope it's trengove. NOT butcher. But yes your right mate. Martin and possibly Marabito may be roughies for #2.

As long as we take Trengove I don't care! He is the best player in this draft. Watch him burn in the GF this weekend. I don't even support either side but I will be there at AIMI just to see this kid turn it on!

Slip him the red and blue jumper as he comes off:D

Yeah, I reckon it's pretty clear who we should & almost certainly will be taking with our first two picks, especially since we've got Pick 11 locked up now, it seems.

I agree, pick two isn't the place to take a punt on a player who might turn out to be great over a guy who will be. Pick 11 or 18 however....

BUMP.

I tend to disagree.

Big shout out goes to Stefan Martin:thumbsu:
