Another brilliant old song, though a modern day cover version of it. There are lots of good ones out there. The lyrics are incredible - if you actually know what they're singing about, it's hard to make it to the end of the song without shedding a tear or two!:

And when I see the sign that points one way
The lot we used to pass by every day
Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
You're not to blame
From deep inside the tears that I'm forced to cry
From deep inside the pain that I chose to hide
Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries
Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it…
Your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall
Still finds a way to haunt me, though they're so small
Just walk away

I just love this song!!

I like that you think 1994 is modern day !!

“Wake up Maggie, I think I got something to say to you...”

Rod has the answers to most of life’s problems.
I love Rod but would rather not talk about music after my friend mistakenly sold all my CD's at my garage sale when I moved.
Not a fan of downloading Apple music and the like.

Over 60 CD's, some of which I had picked on on my travels, like Dr Hook.:'(

Friends like that you don't need, Maggie!

It’s interesting the cash side to small businesses or whoever.

if we assume some of them (many of them?) don’t declare the earnings correctly or not at all, are not they stealing from all of us?

A person working for a company who takes out their tax and hence they pay their share.

So are those and the honest people de facto subsidising the cheaters?

Interesting question I would posit?
I knew some people who owned a milk bar/general store. They would buy chocolates, soft drinks, etc, from Woolworths that were on special and sell them for double the price. Completely off the books and clear non-tax profit.

Been known to happen.

Aaaaaand Andrews says F.U to the Feds. I knew it.

"...But Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews hosed down hopes of nationwide changes within one week, saying each state and territory would make its own decisions. "

If BE has his way, we'll be in lockdown for eternity - or at least the term of the Labour government.

So he should. The only thing the Feds are responsible for is closing the boarders.

I'm not going to criticize the Feds or State as they've both done better than their counterparts around the world.

I do see Andrews as a good leader for our state at this time, regardless of how hardline some of his decisions are in comparison to other states.

jmac with a bong in one hand and an ale in the other listening to Pink Floyd. That I'd like to see!
It just took me back about 40 years when I was young and silly. They were great times. Not sure how my brain is still functioning.🤡

3 am not work what could you be doing ?

very odd

If it’s legal that’s a different issue as they still employ 100s or 1000s.

Surely we not condoning thievery whoever does it?

Why does a lady who is a bank teller and hence paying her fair share of tax have to subsidise a “robbing” cafe owner as an example?

Big business should always pay it’s fair share that’s true but legal deductions are open to them to me to you.

I just find the moral dimension of interest.

Strange that big business has the ear of the politicians and these tax breaks or the loopholes open to exploitation seem to favour them....

And a POTUS arguing that they're "good people" and that the governor should negotiate with them... FFS

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The POTUS acronym won't have the same meaning after Trump. It will take a while to restore any goodwill and prestige that the title had.

I just love this song!!

I liked the Rick Price version, more angsty.

If you're looking for an album of interesting covers, have a look at Patti Smith's album "Twelve". Sensational.

Love a good cover song. The best of them make you re-appraise the original version.

I just saw the Dean Laidley thing. Someone pointed me at it although I read the headlines about stalking and didnt feel the need to know more. The police or support staff involved in this photo should be dismissed instantly. His lawyer said something about pulling down. What the hell does that mean? Don't lawyers indulge in correct language these days? Laidley has now been punished far more than anything he is going to get in a court, although football people seem to rise from the ashes over time. Just a word of advice to Dean. When it comes to makeup, less is more.
