Quick Index -

Pick 13:
Tom Lynch - Tall Utility - 191cm, 84kg - Sandringham Dragons, Vic

BIO
A hard working, tall forward or defender. His versatility and football smarts are key elements to his game. He also displays a good speed-endurance combination. He showed great diligence and determination to rehabilitate his knee after undergoing reconstructive surgery in 2007. Tom has showed potential to become a future leader after he co-captained the victorious Vic Metro team during the NAB AFL U18 Championships in 2008 as well as captaining his school team, Haileybury College. Was one of the leading 190cm-plus players tested at the 2008 NAB AFL Draft Camp recording a 14.1 beep test result. He is a graduate of the AIS/AFL Academy.

SuperFooty Profile:
ST KILDA
Pick 13 - Tom Lynch
Sandringham Dragons (Vic) 191cm, 84kg
At 192cm Lynch is best suited up forward but can also push up into the midfield where he could play as a tall wingman. Strong overhead and with good endurance, Lynch played alongside Jack Watts both at Sandringham and Vic Metro in 2008.

RealFooty Profile:

TOM LYNCH
VITAL INFORMATION 17, from Sandringham Dragons. 192 centimetres, 85 kilograms. A bustling forward with midfield potential.
THE RATIONALE The Saints don't have a lot of forward-line depth. Jarryd Allen is their only true young, marking forward. Picking Lynch allows them to start building up some depth. If he doesn't work there, he becomes a powerful midfield option.

Who we think he may turn out like: Jarrad Waite
Who we hope he doesn’t turn out like: James Gwilt

Pick 47:
Rhys Stanley - Ruckman - 200cm, 88.5kg - West Adelaide Bloods, SA

BIO
Developing mobile ruckman who displays a great appetite for the contest. Can take a strong contested pack mark and is equally as comfortable running down players and laying tackles. Was very impressive in South Australia’s victory over NSW/ACT in the 2008 NAB AFL U18 Championships and managed two senior games for West Adelaide (SANFL) late in the season. Jarrad didn’t attend the 2008 NAB AFL Draft Camp due to playing commitments with the Eagles in the SANFL reserves grand final. He comes from a basketball background and had played very little football until this year.

Hi CHBench, There are no other nominations for the keenest pre draft watcher & supplier of info for this board. You take the award hands down :)! Thanks for bringing all the info to us over the last month or 2, you've made it too easy to keep up with who's out there & what's going on. Cheers!

I agree, and the intro has just started just as they were going to get to pick2 12 & 13 predictions too... damn you Demetriou!

Also, I had a few problems loading up SEN's listen live online, so anyone else using that might also encounter some lag with connecting.

CHF who can go back. Plays up the ground around the wing similar to a player we already have. He's a red head too :p.

Anyone know anything about Lynch?

Co captained Vic metro during the championships, he's a tall who supposedly can play forward or back so he's a possible KP prospect.

Interesting to me is that Lisle hasn't been picked yet and round 3 is starting, so maybe he could be the 2nd tall as well if he reaches the double pick?

Interesting that this bloke came off a knee reco in 2007. He's done well to bounce back. Looks like Sam Fisher Mark II! (style wise, certainly not looks wise).
