I still like the Berg but it depends where our first is. If it's top 6 there may be a few other prospects ahead of him I'd take or bid on (McCluggage, Brodie, Bowes) but if it's around 8-10 and there wasn't a huge slider I'd go Scharenberg, has some developing to do I think especially in his frame. Could end up a decent sized utility/mid.

We already have 2 very very good Half back flankers who in 12 months will be special

Daniel McKenzie & Brandon White.

If we keep pick this year and pick up McGrath for back Pocket we will have elite skills , speed in backline.
Bailey Rice developing nicely too.

Put Steele & Marchbank in our team and it would be a very nice group of kids.
Well that's the first time I've seen or heard of Gallucci playing HBF, so I think it's a bit early to dismiss us drafting him on the basis that he played a good game there on the weekend. He mostly plays midfield or forward from my understanding, and has a lot of the exact sort of attributes that we'll be looking for.

Dan Venebles could be a bargain if he slips.

Just see a certain maturity to his footy that could explode in a professional environment.

Got that natural Dangerfield shrug/twist, extremely competitive on the inside., inside and outside burst, happily absorbs 2-3 tacklers as he lasers in on a 2-5m path before the handball off, one of those guys who can power up at a 50/50 one-on-one contest (not to nullify, but to clearly win).

Looks like Danger thinks like Pendles. :thumbsu:

If we can trade in a 2nd round pick, Brodie Romenski is doing well. Was leading in the coaches votes, now coming 2nd. 189cm, mid/def
With a later vote maybe try for Quentin Narkle, son of Phil.

Didnt think he was a son at all. In fact no relation?

The top 25 all look very promising. I hope we find way to turn our first pick into 2 late first round picks. Grab Jonty Scharenberg and Jy Simpkin or something like that, I'd prefer those 2 over one player a bit better eg. McGrath, Venables, Galluci.

Based on current ladder positions:

Pick 6 & 2017 1st rounder to GWS for picks 16 & 17 (via Gee) & Marchbank.

An educated guess has our future 1st rounder being around pick 11 (finish 8th).

In terms of points it's 3080 for 2092, which values Marchbank at pick 18.

No first rounders in 2017 however two later firsts this year to get players you mentioned plus Marchbank. Fair for all IMO.

Still think Steele and marchbank would be on for 2017 1st rounder but it keeps us with a 1st in each year so we could still double up for a star when available. It's not a bad option is it....

Edit....hmm maybe a bit of a misread on my part, so I'm going to go with 6 and Steele is better than the hope of the right guys falling to 16 & 17

I reckon we are zero chance of Luggage and Brodie at this stage.
Unfortunately, I think you're right, we're going to miss out on one of these two.
Although unlike others I reckon there's good quality around our expected pick, enough to make me want to keep our first.
There's a smokey in this draft that, in 5 years, everyone will say "How did we miss him?"

I wouldn't mind McGrath, haven't seen a lot but seems he's spending most time as a running backman. Think he has the scope to be an effective wingman as well though. Big fan of his attributes.

Can lock down too. Only real knock is his size.
