Hi Thy
Boekhurst taken where he was stunned me,
Had a good year at WAFL level ,but for mine not worthy of a pick so high
Fisher i have seen many times, the kid is class, 6cm taller and clubs would be all over him
Then again Neale and Daniel have proven height should not be a factor come draft day.
Draft Central has a detailed wrap on Fisher

Really impressed with Fisher. For a kid of his size, he handled himself very well when playing League

According to the Herald sun champion data rankings, Todd Marshall sits at no 29. As much as I want us to pursue mids this year, should he fall down to pick 25 I would not hesitate to pick him. See a lot of upside in him with his attack o the ball and clean hands both on the ground and in the air. Has X factor written all over him

Interesting point you make DD. I don't think he gets to 25 but if he does it will test the popular notion of needing midfielders v best available being a KPF (depending on how SOS rates him). I only saw limited bits of him so wasn't overly impressed when matched with the hype. Then I looked at the Combine Harvester on the Age and saw the comments....which makes me even more certain I have NFI

AFL bio: Emerging tall forward who played representative cricket in England last year before focusing on AFL this year. Showed real potential with his marking, agility and elite goal sense. Averaged 2.3 goals for NSW/ACT and 1.8 goals for the Allies in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

"He's had no base, no preparation, no pre-season and so to do what he's done this year has been quite amazing. He didn't put together the one full game we were after, but he's shown plenty of signs and we know how much talent he has. He's a competitive kid, some of his run-down tackles and work at ground level has been really good and whether he'll end up a top five pick is up for debate but I think he'll end up a very good AFL player. I told the clubs about a month before the end of the season that he was cooked – he's had such a big year off no preparation – but he'll freshen up. He's grown rapidly in the last year – a lot of his junior development was as as midfielder – so he still has plenty of development as a big fella to go."

Lee Fraser, Murray talent manager

"He jumped up early in the year and has been a little bit inconsistent, but he hasn't been exposed to the level for long enough yet. He makes the most of the opportunities he gets in terms of kicking goals, but he could create even more by being more aggressive and more defensive at times. He might be one someone drafts and plays back for a year, just to teach him a bit more before he goes forward again. But he has some real talent in terms of cleanliness, finding space, kicking goals and jumping on heads. Those sorts of players are hard to find."

I'm all for mids but if Marshall is available at 25 it's very tempting. Has ability. There will be lots of mids available later.

A name such as Simpkin Berry Venables Bolton or SPP may slip through so it's a tough choice.

I believe he is very talented from the snippets he has shown at his current level. If we are to draft him, he will take 3 to 4 years before he shows any consistency on these snippets he has shown. Do we have the patience, to allow him to develop for that period of time?

Broken record time.

SAM POWELL-PEPPER PLEASE!!!
Must admit I've cooled my jets on him PCD. Not because I like him any less, but there is so much good talent available. One of the other ones I like who we won't get is Brad Scheer. Go and watch Mutch, then Simpkin, then Macreadie, then Parfitt, then..... You'll find lots you'll want, trust me.

Totally agree about Brad Scheer. Really flown under the radar, but it seems the kid could be anything.

Bonus because he plays for the same team I did as a junior! Go the PBC LIONS!!!

He's actually slid because he lacks the ability to consistently escape tackles with pace or strength. Seems to have enough pace at times, but it falls away often, and almost always after the first few steps.

He's a second round pick unless that's not an accurate assessment of his athleticism.

Yeah that's true...but we will most likely have Ben Silvagni come to the club in 2018, Big Harry maturing, Charlie's x factor, Jack could be a star too. I would take Bolton, as he might be available and I just watched a recent games hightlights and WOW he is a special talent, on highlights alone I was more impressed with his than SPP highlights reel......

Nah I just think he'd be a good fit at that pick
You have at least one thing right, I'd pick a decent tall before a midfielder who has a few too many question marks to his game. I think it's more likely to be here than with our third pick, TBH, as this seems to be the area of the draft in which key backmen and utilities seem to fall.

If SOS was looking at a tall with this pick and Marshall and say a Brennan Cox were available. I would not hesitate in taking Cox

Marshall will take a long time before he shows any consistency, on the small snippets he has shown this year, way too risky for my liking at this pick

As the draft gets closer and with a variety of options available with this pick and unless there is a real slider (SPP), I would hope that one of the following are selected with our 2nd pick

Brennan Cox
Dylan Clarke
Shai Bolton

I give considerable weight to kids born in the second half of the year, as they have a stronger chance of natural football growth.

These selections would also possibly balance who we select with pick 5

Perhaps, HARKER may consider a version 2 of this thread ?;)

OK but I do feel that the range could be quite wide here.
I'll list the players I don't feel will make it to our 'live' pick #25 but who knows as to who may slide....or who may bolt?

Other, may get the most votes. :)
