So for the crows that is 8, 16, 21 for 3, 24, 46.
Deal
You might need to surrender you future second Rd to GC for pick 24 going your way and 29 going St Kilda way . Remember in order to get pick 4 to GC you need to give St Kilda some sweetener . Maybe ask St Kilda to send their Future 3rd your way .

So what would the deal be?
Assumption : GC ,Adelaide ,St Kilda discussed between themselves and possible scenario

1) GCPick 6,29 for Adelaide 8,13
2)Adelaide pick 6,21,29 for St Kilda 4,36,46
Adelaide can walk away now with
Pick 4, 16,36, 46
Or
3)Adelaide pick 4 ,16,36 and future second for GC 3, 13,24 and future GC Richmond 3rd pick .

Adelaide
In: pick 3, 24, 46,future GC - Richmond 3rd pick, keep- pick 13
Out pick 8,16, 21, Future 2nd round
St Kilda
In : pick 6,21,29
Out pick 4, 36,46
GC
In : pick 4,8, 16,36 ,keep pick 2 and Adelaide future second ..
Out : pick 3, edit, 6,24,29 ,GC - Richmond 3rd round .

So under that scenario Adelaide walk away with 3, 13, 24 & 46?. If that is so, I think the deal looks straight forward. St Kilda for 4, 36 & 46, get 6, 21 & 29 - drop 2 spots from 4 to 6 but huge upgrades from 36 & 49 to 21 & 29 - seems about right. GC out pick 3 + 24 & 29 and for that they get 4,8 & 16 - that is a huge win for them. It might need the pick 16 to go to St Kilda and the pick 21 to go to GC to balance it out a little further.

There was rumor that the crows and saints had spoken and rumor that the crows and GC had spoken - this was around trade time. It would certainly make it one interesting night if such a pick swap happened as the crows ultimately would get Rankine and then take bets talent with their remaining picks. GC still keep 2 for Lukosius and then have multiple remaining 1st's to take best talent and St Kilda still get a top 6 kid and get maybe another 1st rounder in the process...bring it on

Edit: sorry GC out - picks 3, 6 24 & 29. In 4, 8, 16 and future 2nd. So then no need to swap 16 and 21 with St Kilda as GC would be giving up too much

I have thought all along if the crows were going to try and trade up - the pick 6 GC have will be integral in any trade scenario

Exactly. It would appease GC because Rankine would normally go at P3, but is the biggest go-home factor of all SA boys , so dropping down to 4 means nothing to them, and pick 8 isn't a far drop from 6, especially if they're considering Rozee/Smith at P4 to join Luko at P2, then perhaps grab Hately at 8. That's a good bunch of SA boys to build a team around. Crows get Rankine at 3, Port get Rozee/Smith at 5, and Saints get Max King at 6 anyway, and move up the draft order with two high 2nd rounders to no consequence.

Why would GC give up 3 and 4 for 8, 16 and 21?
GC gave up pick 3,6, 24,29 and Future 3rd ( Richmond pick )
For pick 4 , 8,16,36 and Adelaide future 2nd .instead of 2,3,6,24,29
GC go into the draft with 2,4,8,16,36.

Cal Twomey in his podcast talking about ‘go-home’ factor with draftees and said Rankine didn’t give off that vibe at all. Said he expected him to settle in wherever he goes but Bailey Smith would be a likely ‘go-home’ type

It's rumoured on our board that the club is heavily into Smith

Cal Twomey - he is a victorian isn't he?..funny how it is only the vic kids that seem like the flight risks yet the interstaters who everyone else sees as flight risks are somehow fine. Part of a strategy on their part to make sure their best kids get to stay in melbourne?

I was hoping Bailey Smith would get picked up by the Suns.

Because it take more than 8 years for Gibbs to go home ,compare to Prestia ,caddy ,Scrimeshaw .

Polec from brisbane? Jacobs from Carlton?
Jacob pretty crab at carlton and looking for better opportunity , as for Polec he is now with North , different players growth up in different stages .

Cal Twomey is the biggest fraud in the AFL media. He doesn't even attend U18 games regularly throughout the year, he simply watches highlights.

Moral of the story? Don't listen to Cal Twomey.

What are the different between Rumors and Fraud ?

Listening to Cal Twomey in regards to his personal rankings? Absolutely not

Listening to him in regards to the characters of the draftee’s? Absolutely

Spends a fair bit of time with them at camps and combine and whatnot interviewing the guys and while his rankings tend to just be second hand information he gets from recruiters of various degrees, you can’t fault him for the work he does with them on a personal level.

Lycett, Eddie Betts, Troy Menzel (who was quite good at Carlton)
Betts ( FA) play his junior footy with Cannons , Lycett (FA)
Troy menzel was crab at Carlton , offload to Adelaide for pick 28 and Kerridge .

Guess that’s a risk we’ll just have to take with Smith. Wines was saying the same thing before he was drafted.
