I wonder if the Saints agreeing to let dal Santo go as a free agent, and then getting another player cheaply will raise any eye brows?

Unlikely - the GC trade to get Brisbane to relinquish Brennan's ability to sign as an uncontracted player with them predates this by a couple of years.

They didnt do a thing when Collingwood manipulated the draft to get Ball. Why would they now?
Oh, it makes me warm and fuzzy inside when I see a hurt Saints supporter still sooking about this one.

If they actually had a discussion it would have gone something like this...
Collingwood to WCE: Who are you taking at pick 6?
WCE: Player X
Collingwood: We don't rate Player X in our top 10 picks. Why don't you trade down to our pick 11, we'll give you our 2nd rounder and you'll still probably get your man.
WCE: Okay.

Is there any guarantee we will draft Sheed, or is there any guarantee clubs will stick to their word...?

The trades must be 'fair value' rule which many thought raised suspicions in the Tippet drama last year. In my opinion though, the AFL knew something was dodgy with Tippet from when it was raised about his get out clause earlier in the year and simply gave Adelaide enough rope to hang themselves and may have used that rule to create pressure. It's also why the Hawthorn St Kilda trade today had to have two picks going Hawthorns way for their first rounder. It had to be structured right to appear to be a reasonable trade on its own.

I wonder if the AFL integrity unit will raise an eyebrow or two in November.

After the Swans got Franklin, I cant see the AFL caring that GWS are f*&^ing us and using the no.1 PSD pick. Same thing about us f*&^ing adelaide over Tippett last year (There is a longer story, but....), as there is still a PSD it will be manipulated.

Teams play to the rules, like WB (I think the offer is fair, but) dealing with Essendon over Crameri. Its leverage. All Bulldogs have to hope is that GWS dont keep their no.1 PSD pick.
