HUN reporting that West Coast planning a draft bombshell with a bid on Harry Dean with pick 2.

A McGovern replacement. That would take all of pick 9 and push 11 to the second round. Failing that, Cavanagh reporting that Tigers will bid on him.

That could be an interesting discussion.

Blues - what price for 9? We like Harry a lot. So do Tigers.

Option 1.
Trade us 9 for 13 +33
Draft goes
  1. Eagles Duursma
  2. Suns match Uwland
  3. Lions match Annables
  4. Suns match Patterson
  5. Eagles player xxx
  6. Tigers bid on Dean - Blues need 90% of 1,659 =1,493
Option 2
No deal on 9

  1. Eagles Duursma
  2. Eagles bid on Dean - Blues need 90% of 2,481=2,233

Blues either match at 2 or 6. Difference is 740 points.

I like it

Wow, the first bit of meat-headdery the Eagles have engaged in, in like over a decade. I'm impressed.

or our recruitment team genuinely rate him that highly

1. CDT
2. Dean
13. Farrow

The one thing you cant bag our recruiters for is being able to pick talls (inb4 someone brings up Brander)

If they rate Dean that highly Id back them in

Reckon its all posturing this far out to see what shakes loose though

Looks like we're trying to force Carlton to trade for pick 2. Maybe we dont want CDT after all.

I think it's more we want to trade down from 13.

How do you figure this?

It's fairly straightforward, we probably want pick 9. Threaten to go in at 2 and those picks are taken for that bid. Do a trade and we get the 3rd top ten pick we've wanted and Carlton don't have to worry too much about points.

Ah, you said trade down from 13 I thought you meant us

That's a "look... there's a bear" distraction
YARN | That's a misdirection. | The Office (2005) - S06E09 ...

If he can just not get outmarked by oppo ruckmen that will be sufficient. He would more than make up for it once the ball hits the ground, idk if theres a single ruckman in the comp who seems to be as proficient as CDT at ground level.
I actually think his defensive pressure is quite poor. Like he has 1 effort to win it straight up and then zilch. It's not like he's busting tackles or anything. Usually a handball to nowhere which isn't really productive.

I'm more impressed with the outside the contest link up work.

You realise there's an art to being able to pull off the Joe the goose move? You beat your opponent back to goal with your ability to read the game and being athletically superior - two extremely valuable traits imo.
Or you were too lazy to chase the defender who has run off you and got lucky.
