A WCE poster mentioned Geelong may be eyeing tylah williams with pick 19. Would WCE match if that happened??
If we want him, then yes. We'd only have to use picks that we probably weren't going to use on players other than NGA/FA anyway. Basically anything after our pick 13.

With all due respect mate, its clear you don't know your elbow from your arseh*le so why pretend otherwise

Well I’ve been the biggest negative nancy in this place… and we finished the year with 1 win…..

The delusion was strong with this club board pre-season (apologies Obi).

5 wins at least, Oscar wasn’t injury prone, Yeo wasn’t cooked, we will finish above Saints and Bombers (Tiggers? even the sensible posters got that wrong), yada yada yada

Yes. Our next pick is the 30’s so no benefit in not matching as we don’t get to pick anyone else at 19.

Like everyone who posts on this forum, I still love ya man. At the end of the day we all disagree at points but we all love this club

I'm not seeing it with Williams. Too small and plays exclusively outside. Ordinary left leg and has no right leg at all. Would rather take Swadling at 34. He's got clean hands, great lateral movement in traffic with his shimmy and has some burst from stoppage. He wins his own footy. Then I'd take Onley with 41 but if he's not there Curtin. We need to invest in a CHB. This is assuming we take 5 picks.

No-one trades pick 2 for 9 and a pick in the 20s.

Never have and never will.

Strange unrealistic example you used here.

If the club adjusts its professional list decisions to pander to a bunch of bed wetters then we need to fold. We will get nowhere.
I think you seem a little confused so I will clarify.

If we split pick 2 for pick 5 and 15 as some have suggested then it’s very likely those two picks will be once selected picks 9 and something in the 20’s after Annable, Patterson, Uwland and Dean are nominated on before 5 and the potential for other academy boys such as Sweid, King and Ison attract bids pushing pick 15 into the 20’s

We can disagree on who we think the Eagles should draft and what is a fair trade for the club to consider but a difference of opinions certainly does not constitute as wetting the bed.

Being critical is just as important as being objective. No one likes a whinger but no one likes a sycophant either.

Well, he's a small forward who ought to play primarily outside at this stage of his development.

Whenever I've seen him I've thought he had a good left foot.

Honestly first i had heard of him today. He tested very well and looks good on his highlights
His gift shop skills are elite. Tested top 3 in guernsey sales at the team store combine this year, as well as another top 5 result in moving merch featuring traded/delisted players. Answers a mean phone, too.

Not sure West Coast would be willing to pass that up tbh. Expect us to match.

I like Williams but I don't see a top 30 pick. If it was a choice between him, Rodriguez or Curtin I would take either of the other two first.

The only way I would be trading pick 2 is if we end up with pick 3 and another pick in the teens or a future.

CDT is a clear pick 2 so we must take him if we hold that but I would really like Robey, but he will go to Richmond with their first pick. If bombers want CDT they need to get creative with Richmond involved also to include pick 3 for us.

The step down to picks 5 and 6 is massive

I would take F-Rod before Williams and Swadling

As others have said it would be unlikely the Tigers go for this but I like the idea of including their picks.

I would much rather deal with them exclusively than the Bombers. They could well be just as keen on CDT. As Puma said a few pages back, moving pick 2 down to 5 or 6 risks our next best targets being gone too.

Moving 2 down to 3 means we give up CDT but have our choice of the rest. Or would we settle for pick 4 and risk them taking our next target?

Ideally I wouldn’t give the Tigers a leg up after their draft haul last year and getting the better of us in recent trades. But I’d be even less keen to help the Bombers.

The question is what would need to be included for a one pick slide from 2 to 3?

If the next on our board is Robey then the trade would essentially be CDT for Robey + ?

Extra teens picks aren’t that appealing in this draft and with our available list spots, unless they are used to move up into the top 10 or land an F1.

Any future picks from the Tigers or Bombers would be welcome as they should both be down the bottom.
I would back this in. Main reason?

Blair Hartley owes his good old mate Matty Clarke a split. Blair needs to reciprocate the favour from last year.
