List Mgmt. Draft Watch 2015

A Medic wouldn't promise that of a guy who had never been injured. It's just not something you can say.

And if Burtons knee isn't 100% does anyone think he's going to authorise his doctor to let teams know?

You raise a very good point. What and how much does his Dr disclose of the injury.
On one hand there is the relationship he has with Burton to consider and on the other he wouldn't want to jeopardise his professional reputation by "spinning" the wrong medical opinion about his clients knee.

I don't think Burton would want to jeopardise his chances of being picked up by any negative medical opinion being communicated to clubs.

Its certainly an interesting situation.

On the topic of Burton, which AFL player has ever gotten back to his best after a broken leg? Would Gary Rohan be the best example?
Lade broke it twice I believe?

Anyway just curious, I haven't followed the news since Trade period... are you guys only taking your first 2 picks into the draft? Didn't you have some other good picks available?

I noticed in an article yesterday suggesting a rookie listed player will be promoted, but surely his value wouldn't warrant giving up a higher pick? One would think the club would find a way to delist another if it meant keeping a higher pick surely?

Boys, I'm around now with an updated phantom and power rankings - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/skipposs-2015-draft-resource.1097140/

Shit is finally together. If you've got any questions tomorrow, I'll answer during the day or from the draft; just quote this (or one of my) posts.

Cheers.

Love your knowledge, but geez I hope your wrong. That draft would not be a great outcome for the Crows. Balic and Curnow really would be a disappointing overall result.

Point 2 - Burton before his injury would have been pick 1 or 2 in this draft. Has the talent of Stringer easily.

I don't think anyone has the talent of Stringer EASILY. There are maybe a handful of guys currently in the AFL that are comparable to Stringer.
Stringer went 5th despite his injury, if Burton is as good as you say why is he slipping so far? Because his injury is worse or he isn't as good? Probably a bit of both.
Take Collins and Milera and pick a tall forward next year who doesn't have 10 screws in his leg.

Yep only 2 picks and then one much later for Jake Kellys promotion.
We had a couple of picks late 20s early 30s but traded them for Seedsman and Menzel

Barlow has returned pretty well.

Pendlebury also had a break/fracture in his leg a couple of years ago for memory - depends on the break though I guess as some are obviously far worse than others.

Ziebell broke his leg against us at Footy Park pretty early in his career.

Jake Kelly is likely being upgraded off the rookie list. We still have pick 71 to do that, along with using picks 9 and 13 to fill the last two spots on the list.

We had picks 28 and 32 as well, but we used them to bring in Seedsman and Menzel and pick 53 went to Geelong with Dangerfield.

His Dr is Matthew Liptak, I'd hope he would let us know at least !!!

As for Skippos' draft it wouldn't be so bad. We do need another high quality inside mid and Balic could be that. Curnow could be anything too.

That said I'd rather go with Milera and take a punt on Burton. That or hope Francis slides.

Which begs the question, if Francis and Milera are both still there who would you take ???

Thanks my bad, thought you still had a 2nd lying around.

Surely not to us at 9. That's a massive risk.

The crows and blues are playing massive mind games this year.
Personally if there was ever a year to go for a high risk high reward pick with a first rounder it's this year. We have two picks so close together, that if we think we have one solid low risk option that we will get as well I'm happy for us to take a punt with the other one. Like Lever last year Burton by all reports would be in the running for top 3 without the injury. If it comes off, we look like geniuses.

Does the top 10 on stage include the academy picks? I assume so... If so, we don't have a top 10 pick!

Someone suggested the AFL has the Top 10 up, excluding the academy picks. So could have 13 players on stage.

I just asked Emma Q that question on twitter, I figure if anyone knows that answer it might be her.

I guess the AFL has to "assume" there will be no academy selections (actually 1 - GWS' pick 10) so whoever Adelaide is taking at pick 9 would need to be invited in case no academy selections are made.

Also like Bacon said, they may take 13 on stage.
