This kid looks like an absolute animal around the contest. Wouldnt be surprised if we grab him with one of our picks. As olgivie loves competitors. Alot will depend on what essendon, gold coast and carlton do. Im thinking essendon will go tall with picks 4 and 5 taking francis and weidemann, then gold coast maybe going tall aswell to replace dixon although maybe going with milera to replace bennell. Carlton will go with a forward imo maybe curnow.
Not sure .....they already have Cripps & IMO Curnow will be drafted with a view of being a big bodied mid ?

Melbourne though every chance with Curnow

IMO where our draft picks are located ....if we want Oliver we can get him

Just to add why i've taken Milera of my "signature"
1. I do believe Milera will be gone b4 our pick BUT

2. The trading in of Menzel negates the need for a Milera type player

3. We need another contested inside, marking midfielder .....Curnow #1, Oliver #2
Isnt it ironic that the player we might select could be from geelong falcons:confused:

The biggest changing draft picks:
28: Geelong > Crows > Carlton > GWS > Collingwood > North
53: Adelaide > Geelong > GC > North > Collingwood > GWS

Will be interesting in 3 years to see how both end up going!

Better if we recruit from Victoria that the player is a country lad ......isn't Oliver Murray Bushrangers ?

If essendon dont go with weidemann carlton will, i doubt curnow will get to us at 9.
:( unfortunately not looking likely Curnow will reach us

This is going to be such a slow crawl to the draft, as it is every year.
Another month ? .....who can wait ....so much will change in 4 weeks ....Weitering may even fall out of the top 10 :p

Who does your club get with its first pick?

ADELAIDE Pick 9: Aaron Francis was touted as a top-three pick earlier this season but that seems unlikely now. There is a slight chance he gets through to the Crows' first pick at No.9, which would be a good result for the club given he is a South Australian. Francis can play all over the ground but is best suited to a third tall defensive role.

Around the mark: Harry McKay, Ryan Burton, Wayne Milera

I find all this talk of Francis being a third-tall defender a bit strange. From his highlights some of his best work was in the middle.

Was there a reason he didnt play for vic country during the champs?

"The stocky but explosive midfielder missed out on selection for Vic Country in its national carnival win but enjoyed a consistent second half of the season, which was reflected by polling 14 votes in the last nine rounds of the year."

Would suggest he just wasn't good enough in the first half.

Cripes he is big...

Nah came into the season sore and underdone .....purely fitness as a result of injuries

Callum Twomey has written an article suggesting which player clubs will likely take with their first pick in the draft.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-24/who-does-your-club-get-with-its-first-pick

He suggests that if Aaron Francis is still available at pick 9. we'll take him, but I don't think that is any surprise.

Which players do you think Adelaide would pick in front of Francis (if they magically happened to still be available at pick 9)? Obviously the academy players are out, but here are the players Adelaide would pick in front of Francis IMO.

Definitely: Weitering, Schache,
Probably: Parish
Possibly: Weideman

I can't see us entertaining any other player before Francis. The truth being we are almost definitely out of the running. The draft order will probably look something like this

1. Carlton: Weitering
2. Brisbane: Schache
3. Melbourne: Parish/Weideman
4. Essendon: Parish/Weideman
5. Essendon: Curnow/Francis
6. Gold Coast: Curnow/Francis/Milera
7. Melbourne: Curnow/Francis/Milera/Balic/Burton/Mackay/Collins
8. Carlton: Mackay/Collins/Balic/Milera/Burton/

So I don't think Francis or Curnow will make it past pick 7, Milera might be taken by the Gold Coast, but might slip through to pick 9. I am interested in Collins, looks like he's going to be another man-child who is very strong and can become a very solid lock down defender. This would finally cover our Key Defender issue, but if Milera is available, we may not be able to look past him. Pick 13 will be based a lot on who's available and a little bit on who we picked at number 9. If We take Milera at 9, we might be a chance for Collins at 13, otherwise if we are really unhappy with our ruck back ups, Mackay's name might be called if he's available at 13.

We'll also be looking at Burton, he's a local lad and Noble has expressed a strong indication that the local talent is of interest. He's listed as a key forward, but has expressed desire to become a midfielder so I don't know what's going on there. He is 191cm though which is a little short for a key forward, he would be a beast playing through the midfield already having 88kgs to his name. Was injured with a serious leg injury and missed the 2015 season as a result and is rated quite highly for a kid who didn't play any football in 2015. His talent might be too hard to overlook although I'm not too sure how many ex severe injured players Adelaide will be comfortable having on its list with the likes of Lever and Menzel there. I think this is the kid to take at pick 9. I doubt he'll be there at 13 and this kid could be the one that haunts us if we over look him, he just has that feel about him. Milera might go on to be a great player, but Burton might go on to win a Brownlow.
