How can we be unsure of players we have seen at the top level over 50 games .......and be sure of picks 9 & 13 for players we've never seen play outside of junior footy?????????

I'm unsure about them because they weren't even in the 22 at their old clubs?

I'm not sure of anyone but I'm SURER of a top 10 draft pick than curtley Hampton

So where do they come from then? When Emma Quayle does her pre-draft predictions, do you think she's just guessing, or has she perhaps spent time talking to recruiters at junior carnivals and TAC Cup games?

I haven't professed to be a good, or even credible judge of junior talent, and I'm not deluded enough to think that I can provide an opinion worth considering based on a video package, compared to those who are paid to scout these kids full time, or even those who spend a lot of time doing it as a hobby. I also don't really have the time.

Am sure I've read on here that she has excellent industry connections but in particular spends time getting to know the draftees themselves. So info not just coming from recruiters but the recruits themselves.

In that case your previous post makes even less sense.

We have better forward depth than most teams, with 3 solid KPPs already in the team, plus Otten and (to a lesser extent) Lowden, with 3 more in the development queue. Adding another to the development queue does nothing to address any (non-existent) shortcomings in our depth for 2016.

If Parker actually is, and Ben Jarman, and the draft next year lacks talls but is strong on mids... maybe we do take a KPP this year?

I agree though, I want to draft some midfield class.

Depends on who is available but I'd love a mid and a tall forward with picks 9 and 13.

I get where Vader is coming from re not taking a tall but I reckon he is massively under selling how valuable a quality tall forward is.

Getting to pick up a top ten (or thereabouts) tall forward just doesn't happen for Adelaide, so I hope we go for it IF the right player is there.

Our need for a quality mid is obvious too.

Neale next year would be nice.

Can someone please confirm with me that on draft night we will have picks 9 and 13?
I was on the fox footy fb page and our picks were pushed out to 13 and 17? cos of the father son picks and the academy picks?
are the father son and academy picks done pre draft? will our picks still be 9 and 13?

They're done live. If Melbourne bid pick 3 on Mills, Sydney will 'match' and they will then take pick 3 and everyone else shifts back a pick. Although Sydney will have to sacrifice later picks which equate to pick 3. There will likely be four academy picks inside the top 15 so yes our picks could slide back a few spots.
