List Mgmt. Draft Watch 2015

For a bloke that reckoned posters talking about the draft was all "a bit of fun" on the other thread there's not one poster on here more disparaging of other AFC posters views and opinions than yourself. Lighten up ffs everyone's entitled to an opinion be it either informed or uninformed.....remember it's all a bit of fun!!
Point Taken :thumbsu:

McKay (H) is going to be a ripper ......one of the youngest in this draft

Would be amazed if we overlook him ......that said if he ends up going b4 our #9 it again will increase the chances of one of the SA boys

Not sure on Harry's brother ....haven't seen enough

I would genuinely, honestly and sincerely be happy if the club adopted a policy of never picking a player you thought was good.

Seriously. I think that would be good risk management

I'm not even kidding

He's not a forward , and will never have lynch endurance unless he transforms himself ...he's a reader of the ball with the game in front of him
 didnt do too bad for a non forward ?

South Australia def Western Australia
Goals:

South Australia: Francis 4, Brind 3, Allen 3, Partington 2, Haysman, Bonner, Nunn, Olekalns, Markov, Redman

Does everyone agree that we'll manage to obtain ONE of McKay, Francis & Milera at pick 9?

Surely it'll be one of these three players at pick 9?
yep ....maybe add Oliver & Weideman to that list

I think it's unlikely Charlie Curnow will be available at pick 8, with Melbourne and Essendon strongly linked to him with their two selections each. Key forward Sam Weideman has also been linked to both clubs and would also seem unlikely to be available at the Blues' pick. If not for injury, I think he would have been a near certainty to be drafted in the top-three this year (and he still might). Aaron Francis seems the most likely to be available at pick 8, with Essendon and Gold Coast the main threats to stop him from being there at the Blues' second selection. Harry McKay is also a chance to come into their thinking, as another exciting tall prospect. The Crows - with selections 9 and 13 - have also been linked to McKay.

Maybe Milera could be available at #13?

Which is why the showing by Wayne Milera at SANFL level last week was huge. Milera, a classy half-forward, kicked three goals from 17 disposals to be a matchwinner for Central District in its semi-final. He has really shot up in the past couple of months to be a contender for the top-10 in some recruiters' eyes.

My boy Oliver :hearts::hearts::hearts:
Quote Cal Twomey:
As for your second question, there's been a lot of interest in Clayton Oliver in the past couple of months. He won the TAC Cup's Morrish Medal over the weekend after a super second half of the season, and continued to perform deep into September with his Murray Bushrangers. Showing his overall midfield quality on the weekend, he had 21 disposals, 10 tackles and 7 clearances. What I like about him is his burst of speed out of the stoppages: he plays a bit like Patrick Cripps, but seems to have more upside in terms of his natural breakaway pace in the first few metres. Not sure if he's done enough to displace the guys in the top 10 - I think more likely to be late first round or early second.

I posted about this before , a good footballer playing forward that day would have done that on his ear

Western australia were extremely poor and he's a good footballer who can draw the ball at that level

Doesn't make him a forward

Sorry but getting angry here .......how can you simply throw the term "no harm to add them "into any draft conversation?

Questions:
1. how many top 10 picks has the Crows had?

2. We've just loss the AFL's top 5 player .....an inside beast, and about to lose Thompson ....plus losing Wright ...that's a fair bit on inside class players being lost

And you see no harm in adding a couple of flankers to replace Henderson .......SERIOUSLY are you thinking about what your posting ?

Not just you but general thinking has no thought to team / list structures

Just added 2 half back flankers in the trade .....have Shaw and Otten fit again .....but hey lets recruit flankers with two VERY IMPORTANT draft picks ......what's the harm hey
Not arguing about the hbf comments but just remember the top 5 player we lost played Hb. Keep everything in perspective.
We wont be chasing a Hb.
If they have hibberd playing guts this is a different story

This is what I reckon will eventually happen with Hibberd (switched between the guts and the outside), and this is the direction I see Adelaide taking him in if we choose to draft him. Although he still has the versatility if needed.

One of them almost has to be

Weitering, Shace, Parish, Weidemann and Curnow will all be gone before our pick for sure I think.

That leaves a combo of uncertainty in Francis / Milera / Mckay / Oliver to fill out spots 6 / 7 / 8 / 9. No idea what order but at least one of the hyped players should make their way down to us. Included coz why not.

Inb4 mathieson at 9

Assuming they're available, I think they're at the top of the list.

Cant believe so many people think McKay is a priority for us. No thank you.
I was hoping for Milera with our first pick (expecting Francis to be gone before pick 9) but its becoming more likely he is gone before our pick.
A few months ago he was second round material. Last year Luke Partington was a top 10 pick but now he has moved out to a second rounder.
This top 10 draft is far more open than previous years. Only the top 2 are set.

Just because you don't want him, doesn't mean the club won't

Any thoughts on Markov as a rookie? Seems to have some real determination.

I like it. Very athletic, would definitely be happy for the club to take a punt on him.

Found this somewhere, looks half-decent
Oleg Markov – South Australia (Forward/Key Forward 190cm/85kgs)
Oleg Markov was born in Belarus and is the son of a world champion pole vaulter. He is a beautiful athlete and missed out on being drafted last year but I think that this year he will be picked up by a club. Came seventh in the agility run which is extraordinary for someone that is 190cm.

Also kicked a perfect 30 in the goal kicking test – only one of four to do so and also ran a massive 14.8 in the beep test. An athletic beast.

Joe Daniher is 100 times the talent that McKay is. Daniher has been in the system for a few years now and hasnt set the world on fire. McKay is so far behind him its not funny.

... What hell are you talking about? What has Daniher have to do with what I said? Just because 1 players develops a certain way, doesn't other players will. Also do you not realise that Mckay would not play many games for us next season? He would be a selection for the future, when Jenkins is in his twighlight. And once again, just because you don't want him does not mean the club feel the same way.
