Do you actually watch games?

My mistake? You referred to 3rd talls as KPDs and now you're trying to backpedal. Again. Standard behaviour for you.

I would like you to show me one game where Otten lined up at FB or CHB. If it happens regularly, you shouldn't have any problem finding one game.

In answer to your request for Vader, you piqued my interest. This is what The Roar posted.

If you take a quick glance at the 2012 team that came oh so close to a spot in the grand final, and compare it to today’s side, the differences are massive. In fact 10 players different.

2012 Crows
B Luke Thompson, Ben Rutten, Michael Doughty
HB Brodie Smith, Andy Otten, Brent Reilly
C Richard Douglas, Scott Thompson, Bernie Vince
HF Rory Sloane, Taylor Walker, Matthew Wright
F Ian Callinan, Kurt Tippett, Jason Porplyzia
FOL Sam Jacobs, Patrick Dangerfield, Nathan van Berlo
I/C Jared Petrenko, David Mackay, Ricky Henderson
SUB Graham Johncock

You could argue there will only be 6 players playing round 1 from this side. Big turnover.

This Anderson bloke is a joke, he has players rankings moving up and down as much as 14 positions based on zero, great imagination when a football hasn't been kicked in anger for several months.

I quoted the Roar, those are not my words. The point is Andy Otten did play one game at CHB which is what Captain Furious wanted Vader to prove. End of story IMO.
Not so much. Named at CHB doesn't mean he played at CHB. There's no context. What round? Against who?

And the most important question: Do you have too much time on your hands?

I'm fairly open to another inside mid being taken.

The main reason, and I don't advertise it for obvious reasons (it's not that important to me) is that I don't think Matt crouch's ceiling is higher than B grade.

Yes he does a lot well now, but I agree with those that think he is closer to his ceiling that you might expect. He finds it, and moves it on ok in close. His disposal is bad, but his decision making isn't so he can usually do something ok with it. But finding it is instinctive, he won't necessarily get better at it. He doesn't have his brothers 360 view of the field, but he is tough.

The problem is that he provides no spread, none. yes his endurance is poor, and than can improve but he doesn't seem to me to be someone who has that sense. Dangerfield never worked hard enough to make space or provide spread either but he was explosive enough he could kick start things from inside. Matt crouch isn't fast or athletic enough to do that.

I still see Matt Crouch as a Sam Mitchell lite, with less vision, spread or disposal. That's still useful but it's not nearly an A grade player.

So if we decide we want a matheson I can support that

Delist Crouch, as he gives away more Frees Against Per Game. ;)

His hands aren't as clever as you think they are.

Priddis and Thompson are/were far more than "pretty handy". Crouch will never be anywhere near either.

Seriously, you seem to have the worst ability to appraise a player on the entire board. Aren't
Not sure how talking about he works at the stoppages addresses perceived criticisms of his lack of spread from the contest. Even if you're right that doesn't address the criticism.

If he turns out to be a very solid B grade player then there is nothing wrong with that at pick 23

Besides some of the GWS kids and Prestia, how many kids his age can and have done what this kid is doing?

Usually swing to the same direction of your view but on this one I think you are being very short sighted.

I'll put 100 and a slab of your choosing, that the kid will be as good as either of Priddis or Thommo in 3-4 years time. Prolly won't win a Brownlow through suspension, but I bet he will go down as one of our greats eventually.

NtrRabiit or whatever you go by, you are just a troll aren't you?
You back in absolute spuds with such vigour and then come out with crap like this about a kid who so obviously(to those who have ever played, watched or been associated with football) has natural ability to burn and who has hit the ball out of the park in comparison to what most of his peers have achieved at the same age/games played.

M. Crouch is an ordinary inside mid, and that's all he'll ever be. Inescapable truth.

A second year player averaging 21 disposals per game, with great hands, kicking needs work and learning to become more dangerous. I'd take that any day over the alternatives that were available at a 20's pick in that draft. You used Mitchell as a comparison and I have provided you stats of both players at the same age. Inescapable truth is that you clearly have no idea or as previously suggested, you are just a troll.

Maybe the spread will come with more footy nous as he gets more experience, and instruction.
Got a feeling M Crouch will be the Priddas like player who will use his smarts to setup the play for other midfielders around him.

I really don't understand the mentality of talking down our good kids. I feel that we have some great talent coming through with the likes of Bob, Brother of Bob, Ratkins, Snake, Kinght e.c.t. Let them have a crack before you doom them.

And he has NEVER done a pre season even in junior football when he was playing cricket , this will make a world of difference

That opinion may pass in isolation, but coupled with some of your other waffles and it begins to paint a picture.

The picture screams that you have NFI about what constitutes a good footballer.
Nothing personal.Each to their own.

I think that Crouch will be the player to replace Thompson as the sole midfielder. But that leaves CEY and Lyons in the dark considering neither would be well suited outside of the midfield.

Has CEY ever been played in the back lines?
