Draft whispers, rumours & scuttlebut

Think you'll find Parish ends up at Melb with their first pick. They want the best mid outside the academy mids that's why they did the trade with GC to get the pick before Essendon who would have picked him as well.
I'm not so sure. I think the main priority of that trade was to get 2 highly talented kids in now and to signal to the footy world and the club that it's time we improve and the group of kids 22 and under are it, no more next year.

Now given the top 2 picks are reportedly all but locked in you'd hope they are really keen on a certain kid at pick 3 but it could be Parish, Curnow, Weideman or even Francis.

Boak , Gray , carlile , Trengove , butcher , pittard , Oshea have all been made offers to go play back in their home states. They all decided to stay. Lions should worry less about where players are from and worry about fixing what's wrong behind the scenes. Then players will stay and want to play for them.
Maybe Brisbane should build a stadium or expensive training facility which the afl have a massive vested interest in. Following the trend with past cases of this, they should rocket up the ladder in no time

That's what I expect aswell, just a few in the media floating around what I suggested.

If that's so then a lot of them have changed their minds in the last year.

No Collingwood supporter has ever said Beams is not elite, plenty questioned his defensive work rate though just like Crows fans here have questioned Danger's disposal, doesn't mean they think the player is shit. It's petty but the deficiencies aren't fabrications and are still fairly valid IMO.

Yes, actually, they have. I'm sure they didn't really mean it as a genuine opinion but it was said. Yes, it was petty.

if goldcoast bid for hipwood with pick 8, will brisbane be forced to part with pick 2?

One of: NM/Port/Ess/WC to draft Aidyn Johnosn with a pick in the 20-30 range

I know you've said you know this kid, so i presume these 4 clubs have told him they are keen with their picks in that range.

But be prepared to be probably surprised.

I knew a draftee a couple years back who was told by 4 clubs that he would be picked with their late 1st Round picks(2 clubs) and early 2nd Round picks(other 2 clubs).

He was then actually picked by a different Club after all those 4 Clubs went elsewhere.

He is now at a 2nd Club which is neither of the original 4 Clubs either.

Moral of story: it is a lottery with many people being told many things.

Sure, I mean what would the Cats do for a side without SA?

Draft from the Falcons.
But seeing we cant call them our academy, we'll just keep taking the ones you keep missing.
Been working out pretty well for us to id say.
Please, dont go changing. Stay just as you are. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Go Catters

I know you would love for it to happen, but nah - GC needs to bid pick 1 on hipwood to make Brisbane give up pick 2. *sad face for you*

I honestly couldn't care less what brisbane get up to. I am just trying to work out how the academy bidding actually works.

Is this a jibe at Port?

If it is, the AFL ripped in less than a million into the Adelaide Oval development & nothing into the training facility.

This is clearly why after having the same lottery numbers for 20 years I am still working.

Not specifically at port, just making an observation that when the afl make agreements/investments into stadiums/training facilities, the club in question usually see's a bit more good fortune than others.

For example, Carlton landed Chris Judd as the princes park redevelopment was awaiting completion
