thanks DraftMe i am always interested in player comparisons, who do you think allison and rolls play similar to (if any) from players past or currently in the AFL?

also from what i have heard and read sam petrevski-seton is a cyril rioli type player, do you agree with that comparison?

DraftMe if Essendon were to trade their theoretical top 2 pick for, let's say, 6 and 10, who would be the best available at 10 be?

Giants really did get the best end of the stick with these academies!
It certainly has been very good for them. I wonder sometimes if the size of the academy (how many players they have in them) is the issue rather than whether clubs should have one or not.

Ainsworth at 10. Most people, including me would have him in their top 5.
I haven't seen enough midfield production from Ben Ainsworth to place him any higher. I want to see him dominate some games both in the TAC Cup and in the upcoming championships.

Hi jason pm I am finding it very difficult to compare Jacob Allison to another player for a couple of reasons. He is very unique and is developing at a fast rate. Last week was the first time I've seen him play as a defender. I prefer seeing him spend more time through the midfield and up forward utilizing his great skills. Jack Rolls, I can draw some comparisons to Brandon White (St Kilda), but more powerful and with more midfielder attributes.

As for Sam Petrevski-Seton, yes I do see a lot of similarities to Rioli in his game. Should play more midfield than Rioli does though.

If Essendon got 2 x top 3 picks (assuming Hooker leaves) do you think Essendon would theoretically consider trade one of those picks and their 2nd rd pick for GC's 2 x 1st rd pick (say Melbourne #6 and GC #12)?

With Jack Bowes being potentially rated around our Melbourne pick it would make sense for GC trade picks up.

I'd trade pick 2 (if we theoretically finish 2nd last) for 6 and 12 in a heartbeat with maybe a second round swap of picks as well. Even if Hooker stayed at Essendon.

There is a big debate happening over on the Carlton board at the moment over whether we would swap pick #1/#2 for say GWS's first two (1st rnd) picks.

Support for and against. I'm leaning towards yes, but it would come down to what else is in the package.

Definitely a case for GWS trading up for pick #1/#2 and a stack of later points, given it hands them a gun and then ensures they get full discount on their academy kids expected to go at the pointy end.

The way I see it is that you can have a 10/10 player or two 8.5/10 players. Take the latter every time IMO.

I, personally would prefer to keep the top 2 pick and choose one of Brodie, Petrevski-Seton or Battle. I think Essendon should keep adding to their pure midfielder stocks so if they ended up with 10 then maybe Powell-Pepper or Scharenberg. If they want to draft a forward partner for Daniher then they will probably have to stick with their own pick and draft Battle.

Two SA boys you haven't mentioned and looking at their form could see them coming in after Sharenberg, young Ben Jarman, Darren's lad is playing league for North Adelaide and Kym Kosters lad playing for Glenelg league kicked 3 in his first league game

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for them.

No where near as simple as that, as I'm sure you are aware.

Back for 2016 aiming to be bigger and better. I think I will stick with a big board until the final draft order is set much later in the year.

Surprised you haven't listed Foley from the Jets, pre-season form was good, and impressive form over the first 2 games saw around 30 touches against Oakleigh and 17 in 2 qrts against Eastern.

He has been good. I was surprised he wasn't included in the early Vic Metro squad. Hopefully gets a couple of VFL games this year to show what he can do at that level.

Really like your top 10 at this stage, I think you have the right idea. SPS obviously up there amongst the taller mids due to superior skill/agility/decision making. SPP reminds me a bit of Cunnington, do you agree?

DraftMe ... I see you have Witherden at 27 , any particular reason you have him there .. Chris has him inside the R1
Unfortunately, I don't get to see as many Geelong Falcons games compared to the other teams so that can make certain players hard to place. I also don't see much difference in talent & potential in the 15-30 range so I hope players can separate themselves from the pack during the championships.

No Problem.

The amount of football we all see must be "less than" the pro's. Me I see very little thru the year bar the champs , and most recruiters use the champs as a small amount of their total assessment. Considering we have a Fox Footy I do wish they showed some of the u18's , even if its night time filler. Im sure they could get the vision.

Even thou Chris seems to have a strong SA bias , he and Knightmare are two very switched on assessors of talent , have been for a long period of time. If Chris says R1 then Witherden must have something that appeals.

The other Falcon Id like to see atm is Lockie McCartney to assess if he draftable. Hard at it apparently.

Thank you. Apart from the evasion skills I don't see too many similarities between the two.

Check out the new update, a bit of player movement after a couple more weeks of TAC Cup.
