I'm almost exactly the same. Not that those guys aren't going to be really good players, but I was not a fan of Macrae at all and thought that Kolodjashnij was everything Bontempelli was but better.Mayes > Macrae and Aish/Kolodjashnij > Bont the two most recent ones for me.
Not wrong. Both are good. Do you think Wines will be the better player over his career? I'm starting to think it'll be Macrae. Why is that wrong?

I was wondering wtf we were playing at
Jono Marsh you mean?
This is Australia - couldn't
Does anyone know to this day?
Ahhh yes, now it's all coming back to me. I was beginning to think I had 20/20 foresight. I was stoked in Panos and Hooper. Thought we'd got a couple of steals as they were AAs at junior level IIRC. Especially a FF who could kick accurately from 50+m out. Of course Panos may yet return to AFL ranks in this year's ND but in a different role.I was very big on Scharenberg last year but I was also happy to get Bont so not sure I was wrong. It was a strong draft and with pick 4 it was hard to miss no matter what. I remember the year when we drafted Hooper and Panos and I was pretty excited as I liked both of them, especially Hooper who I had seen a bit of as junior.
I think these days with all the information, even we make better calls than we did say 5 years ago. I know more about more players this year than I think I ever have and that's because we have later picks and so the focus broadens. It's why I think the Saints should take McCartin, because they will get 2 quality mids at their picks anyway.
Was incredulous when we read out Hrovat's name. I'm such a numpty.
You were a huge fan of Macrae weren't ya? And then on the Bonts wagon nice and early, you're in some good form mate, who do you want this year?I liked Tuompas

I thought Bont was Chris Grant II for 2/3 years before he was draftedYou were a huge fan of Macrae weren't ya? And then on the Bonts wagon nice and early, you're in some good form mate, who do you want this year?![]()
who I also really wanted at one of our picksHaha yeah I fought the good fight. This years tough- you never can know when it gets to our picks. I'd say Maynard fits the bill the best. Tough as nails, versatile and a big kick, like Webb too because he can do some dirty work but has the size and X factor to become something. You were a huge fan of Macrae weren't ya? Yeah I remember you wanted Bonts with our 2nd rounder real early in the year, great call!I thought Bont was Chris Grant II for 2/3 years before he was drafted
but when we picked Macrae I was like, who is that? even though I had watched him before, but that was because I was watching Jakschwho I also really wanted at one of our picks
Yeah really like Webb, you can just never have too many guys with his skillset and he could easily settle in any part of the ground. Would love to hold out and get him with one of our later picks though. Don't mind Maynard and would be happy with him but there's probably a couple of others I'd prefer at 26/27.Haha yeah I fought the good fight. Cheers for remembering though- people can act really loopy at draft time on bf and it really is a struggle to try and get people on board with lesser bf rated players- look at the saints board! It's a fight worth having though because it should be a really optimistic time of year
at the end of the day though these guys are paid big money to watch these kids and they'd have plenty of reasons for their decisions, we just have to back them in and hope we develop them right.
