Hey guys as much as the mutual dislike between us will always exist you guys have made it now and the real season starts. Good luck for the finals and we will continue the rivalry in 2015.

Just summed up the team. Which qtr will they play in next week? The best teams pride themselves of playing 4 qtrs which realistically is 3 to 3 and a half. It would be a miracle if this team could play half a game of their best footy.

Think that is debatable rines, despite last weeks flogging they havent been too bad of late.
Last round syndrome - once we got 5 goals up eyes turned to next week & a few cues started getting put in the rack - that wont be happening next week.

Betting on the opposition line against bottom 10 teams has made me a lot of coin this year
Same pattern as the last 6-8 weeks. Even Bomber says he can't work our bipolar form out.
Bellchambers simply can't play next week...was useless forward & ok for a qtr in the ruck. Ambrose is another that has unfortunately tailed off in the latter part of the year & looks cooked. I'd risk Carlisle...f**k it. He's a better option than TBC.
Think I'm hoping we get something resembling consistency for ore than 2 qtrs next week.

I seriously doubt that. I really do. I don't think we're good enough to be that arrogant. This game stood for a bit today given the ramifications of where we played if we lost. As it stands now Rich look the goods & we'd be looking at Port over there.
Absolute disgrace to let that rabble back in the door today 5 goals up, given they had absolutely no reason to give a shit after we'd kicked practically 10 on the trot. Any other side in the 8would've gone on to win by 10 goals.
Screw analysing that...only thing I care about right now is Baguley's availability for next week.

Pretty average effort, but I love how history repeated itself with Carlton only needing to register a score to win, much like in 1993
Our team is so infuriating at times. So mentally weak. When can we play one game of four quarters ffs.

I've had a good 1 and a 1/2 hour trip home (traffic was shithouse) to stew on what I'm calling a loss. Observations in case you care:
- The Dons 2014 formula lives on... again! (One great quarter, two average and one terrible)
- Today featured the 1000th time in which I thought "Gee Umpires really don't like Daniher"
- BJ must be carrying an injury of some sort
- I'd venture to say that today's game was the worst our defense has had all year. May not have conceded a ton of points, but the goals we gave them from fumbles in the back half, or not having a loose in the goalsquare during the stoppage were far too many
- Colyer has some very clean hands.
- I wouldn't be surprised if I dream about Martin Gleeson's goal tonight. I understand he hasn't played for a while, but would've liked him to get a full game.
- Not playing Steinberg in hindsight wasn't the best call.
- I really try to be respectful of other teams, but ****, how did we let Matthew Watson, on four separate occasions, kick a ball between two large sticks?
- Daniher kicks pretty nicely in the warmup. Nice to see him nail a few in the match too today. There were times where I would of liked him to lead rather than call for it in the square. Promising game though.

If baguley is injured and set to miss bomber should pull him up the front of the group and point out that if the team had of played the game out properly the sting wouldnt have been in the game and their team mate would be playing his 50th game and a final next week. They took that from him and they owe him.make them look him in the eye.
It might not be entirely true but it might be that "key" bomber has been looking for to unlock this team. Id try anything at this point otherwise the talent this team has is going to be wasted due to mental laziness.

This is the problem that supporters are having with team right now. Our worst is pretty average, but our best is totally top shelf. What is not appreciated is that it is not exactly reasonable or logical to expect the team to play to that level all game or each week. When your best is THAT good then the contrast between best and "normal" is going to look extreme.
Unlike others i'm reasonably happy with the progression of our "normal" state of play. Defensively we are normally very solid and there are signs that we are now "normally" moving the ball forward well.
My expectation is that the platform that has been built this year will lead to solid improvement next year, which pretty much equates to top four.
