what everyones opinions on kreuzer?? atm my team is packed and i only really have hale, kreuzer, or hmac to choose... as my first ruck. with giles 2nd, and redden and big O as emergencies. hale scored amazing in nab, averaged like 100.. kreuzer scored shit.. but has potential???

Of those 3 you mentioned id go with kreuzer especially if its your first ruck
Dont trust Hale to keep the role that had him scoring so well especially when bailey comes back
Same sort of thing for hmac with goldstein unknown how they will effect each others scoring over a season

Personally id be looking to make some more money elsewhere on the field to get a premium ruck if ur going with 3 rookies though

Rucks still troubling me

Either cox/3 rookies

or free up some cash elsewhere to go

Mumford/Jacobs + Kreuzer/Hale

thoughts?

Bailey wont be back until at least halway through the season, knowing him it wont be until round 15+...

True and if it was for his second ruck I wouldn't think its an issue
Just for a first ruck puts some doubts in my mind

Out of Hale and kreuzer probably comes down to personal preference/gut instinct

Personally I would still be looking to make some money elsewhere to get a truly premium ruck if your going with 3 rookies

ok i found some money by getting rid of some of the expensive emergencies i had and buying some cheaper ones that are still gonna play. so i have burger as my first ruck and giles as second.. opinions on burger? his average was like 91 last year, played all 22 games, and can only get better you would think? i really do not trust cox or sandi.. and i dont like mumford lol.

Can't go past the Mummy/Jacobs combo! Just weighing up Redden or Stephenson for R4

Lobbe is out until at least round 5 and renouf is further away than that. Perfect time to downgrade Redden when Lobbe/Renouf come back. As a 4th Ruck you most likely wont be using him after the bye anyway so you could downgrade him to a non playing rookie to maximise cash

Good call re Redden, just hoping he can play No. 1 ruck for a while and post some decent scores.

It doesnt matter if hes number one or two. Hes not going to be starting on the ground for me unless he scores very well. I have 2 keepers ahead of him and hope that Redden isnt required until the byes.

I think people are now underestimating Stephensen's ability to score.

Geelong have been consistently subbing West and Stephenson on and off throughout the NAB (because we will have only 2 fit ruckmen for at least the first 10-12 weeks so they are obviously trying to manage their loads now) so the scores are a bit misleading when it comes to Stephenson's likely output.

So I'm gonna go for a premium + Kreuzer/Hale + 2 Rookies. Now I have to decide between a 1/1/2 or a 2/0/2 bye split:

1/1/2 essentially means your premium is Mumford. This means you'll score 2 Mumfords, 2 Gileses and 2 Kreuzers over the three rounds, with Redden as bench cover for Rounds 11/12, none in Round 13.

2/0/2 gives you Cox/Jacobs. You'll score two Premiums, two Kreuzers, a Giles and a Redden, with Giles and Redden as bench cover in Round 12, none in 11 or 13.

So, having a 2/0/2 split appears slightly riskier - any injury to a Ruckman means you cop
a donut in Round 11/13, right? Nope - a 2/0/2 split only adds no bench cover during Round 11 - if your ruckman is injured beforehand, you can trade pre-R11, and which theoretically won't affect bye-forced donuts. If your ruck is injured post R11, you'll cop an extra donut anyway in R13. remember, you need to use 6 trades pre-R12/13 to only cop two donuts. In fact, going 2/0/2 gives you two backups R12, as opposed to one for 1/1/2, which may be necessary if Redden is dropped by Port if Lobbe and Renouf are back then.

So, little reason to worry about the byes for rucks, unless you go for two Premiums from the same bye, or three rucks from the same bye.

Just my two cents =)

Giles as 2nd ruck looking good after his performance last night....77 against a top liner, and spending a large amount of the 3rd qtr on the bench....gotta be pretty happy with that.

Yeah he looks good. I think without Brogan and watching him for the first time he can avg 80 fairly comfortably.

However when Brogan returns i expect Brogan to be taking the first centre square tap and Giles to start forward and we saw how little the footy spent in GWS forward 50. So when Brogan returns and he is the second ruck, he may be the first still, but if hes the second than i think he will avg closer to 60.

Whats every ones thoughts on hamish mcintosh and kruz for a ruck combo

I don't like the dual mid price strategy unless you think at least one will become a premium keeper. Would much rather spend on a premium ruck and use giles as second ruck. Most likely make more money and score similarly as a duo.

Just my opinion :)

Michael Voss said on twitter that he has NO IDEA where those injury rumours come from.

Luey is absolutely fine - nothing at all wrong!

Been searching for info on Sanidlands and how he is on a few boards, info is scarce, (scarcer than his appearances during the NAB:eek:)

Any one got any info or anything to suggest he would be good/bad or is still hamprered by his calf?

Cheers

I heard on SEN that he'll play but is obviously lacking a bit of match fitness but has backed in his great fitness to get him through the games.

Tough call, i wouldn't.
