Posted by "Piss poor" in the trade rumour thread in 2010 in reply to Vader.
"I don't think Walker will ever kick anywhere close to 75 goals and think you have over rated Walker - Seen him a couple of times and think he is a dumb footballer with average skills. Remember McKinley kicked 50-60 goals a couple of years ago and went missing - Walker is a similar type player to McKinley and has the same kicking problems. Miss it straight in front then kick one after. Wouldn't trust him.

Hurn is a much better player than Taylor Walker and I wouldn't do this trade at all. Keep your spud and we keep Hurn - where all happy"

Without doubt the stupidest post ever on this forum.

I love how people write off young players, expecting them to be superstars in their 1st couple of years. Lucky for us we had a coaching change that fostered an environment where players can develop naturally into their own strengths, rather than force a rigid game plan on a group of players who might have to play a style which is not natural for them, and as a result hinder their development.

Conversly it is equally amusing when a player has a couple of ripper games and opposition fans think their future has arrived early. When in fact, with all the fapping the only thing that arrived early.... oh ooops I digress.
Players need a good track record of consistency to make any judgement.

But I also note that there are many "consistent" role-players that get severely under-rated because they are not a KPP. Those players that stats can't quantify in many circumstances.

To be fair to Piss Poor, a lot of posters agreed with him right up to and including last season.

Only the Neil Craig fanbois, those that had their eyes open instantly saw Tex's immense raw talent.

Garbage. Everyone, NC fanboi or otherwise, could see the talent that Tex had.

The questions over him were whether or not he'd live up to the potential. If he continued down the path he was treading from 09-11 then the answer was looking more and more likely to be no - he'd be another unfulfilled talent, one who was blessed with talent but didn't do the hard yards required to go from "talented kid" to "champion player". Thankfully, Sando was able to get the best out of him this year, with Tex significantly increasing his workrate and attack on the ball, reaping the benefits as a result.

I don't know - Even just from the Adelaide board with have BUTTON92 and Dirty Bird doing their fair share of inane posting...
Please find these 'inane' posts of mine.....

and whether or not he'd be playing for GWS

I've always known he could play but I keep telling myself I don't like him and I keep dwelling on his negatives in a losing battle over the mancrush, we all have. Except of course piss poor, hers is more about lust.

And whether you could build a forward line around a crumbling forward.

So Vader, you thought he'd either develop into a good player or not develop into a good player. That's a pretty safe position to take on most players I reckon.

I had to look this word up. Sounds like many posters on here and their blind infactuation with NC, Vadar, jenny etc.

"Fanboi

Deliberate mispelling of the word 'fanboy' typically referring to an annoying, immature fan of a specific video game console/(or AFL Senior coach/scientist).

fanbois typically spend most of their free time telling anyone who will listen how perfect thier console of choice is, and how inferior all other products are. fanbois will not stop annoying other people until everyone they know is converted to their way of thinking."

Have you looked at the co-incidental evidence as to the main difference between 9-11 and 12 ?

Ultimately some believed that Walker may not reach his potential until he learnt to keep the defenders on the boundary side (whatever the hell that means ???) while others believed that Craig just simply had no idea how to coach/handle a laconic attacking minded forward like Walker and it was beginning to hinder his development as a player.

Sando mentioned earlier in the year that Walker requires a different style of player management whereas it seemed like Neil seemed more focussed on trying to turn Walker into something that he wasn't. All Tex ever needed, which Sando gave him this year, was a license to run and play his natural attacking game. The profound increase in his workrate and confidence IMO is a flow on effect from this.

At the risk of going down this path again, this gives no credence to the value Tex derived (whether he recognised it at the time or not) from the tough love given to him by Neil Craig before Sando started.

Tex was 12 months more mature as a footballer and as an individual by the time Sando took over. To say his improvement and evolution is all about how Sando handled him when he came on board is naive in the extreme.

So his development which seemingly appeared to occur overnight from being a forward struggling for confidence on the selection marry-go-round to fast becoming one of the top forwards in the league just happened to co-incidently occur in the same season that there was a change in direction at the club ? Sounds equally as naive.

Guys like Walker thrive on confidence and self belief, dropping him to Norwood every second week was futile and only dented his confidence. All Walker ever needed was for a coach to tell him that he had a spot in the side and that he could go out there and play his natural attacking game without the fear of the selection noose permanently being around his neck. For some reason Craig seemed more interested in turning Walker into something that he wasnt rather than trying to utilise his natural ablity and flair.
